## Description

The ScanSnap SV600 is an overhead style contactless scanner that provides a new perspective on document scanning. Unlike the typical scanner, you can easily scan newspapers, magazines, books or documents of up to 30mm thick directly with the overhead LED, without cutting or damaging them. You can scan a document larger than A4 size by simply positioning it on the A3 scan mat and pressing the scan button. Because there is no need to cut documents or feed each document through the rollers, your important and delicate documents such as valuable books, hand-painted pictures and photos can be scanned without getting damaged. The Multi Document Detection function enables you to scan multiple business cards, photos, newspaper clippings or other documents in one scan, automatically cropping and rotating the scanned images. (Up to 10 documents can be scanned at one time.) Combining high quality CCD optics and advanced LED illumination, the scanner produces a steady image of the whole document, minimizing the unevenness or blurriness even when scanning from a distance. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the most disappointing feature about this scanner?**
A: I'm not sure what the "librarians are women part" was about but it was stupid. Next, this scanner exports in JPEG or PDF which can be processed with the software you mention. I have Fujitsu Twain compliant software in my FI7160 and the truth is for book scanning the SV600 software is better than any open source software I've used. Please tell me what software you are thinking about. I've used Czur Twain compliant software as well as BookSorber, both of which are far worse.

**Q: Can i use ocr with this scan?**
A: Yes you can and it's easy to run OCR.

**Q: Is this scanner compatible with Windows 10?  Is there a warranty included with the scanner?**
A: It works great with Windows 10.  We’ve been using this to scan for several months and have scanned several large books completely with no issues.  The is the 3rd Fujitsu scanner I’ve purchased. Great experience and never had to think about the warranty. These scanners just work.

**Q: Will it crop an image that is larger than the scan area? I have maps and am willing to scan in portions.**
A: Yes, it will crop anything outside the scan area.
