I’m currently only a little bit through the Switch edition, but from my first impressions the port is well done. The UI is fairly seamless , and I don’t really find myself missing the second screen that the 3ds offered. Nintendo also added a few extra features to the game (not to mention vast improvements in graphics) that are fun to play around with and add some new ways you can play. As far as Miitopia by itself, it is still a turn based JRPG set in a mythical world where people’s faces have been stolen by the Dark Lord, and you (as well as some of you friends/family) have to stop him/her. I think a lot of people who play this game or consider picking it up are afraid of their teammates being automatically controlled and I thought this might be a problem when I originally got the game, but it really isn’t. The miis each have their own personalities on and off the battlefield and it’s fun to watch chaos unfold across the screen as their personalities interact with each other in interesting ways. The battle system is fun, but the cheesy jokes, wacky mii interactions, bizzare locations and killer soundtrack really carry this game.
