Review: I read this for class - This was a very good book for learning practical techniques for teaching. I also purchased their science of reading and workbook companion to read when I have more time (ha ha). Overall one of the better, more useful, and practical books I have read for my Masters program. Review: Practical Tips for Effective Teaching - Useful techniques for developing and rounding out one’s skills as teachers. Accessible and implementable at any stage of one’s teaching career.

Useful but a lot of narrative
I have been a long time fan of tlac books and resources. I found this book to be really helpful like previous resources, but it was a lot of explanation of the why the techniques are great when I feel like (by third edition) that shuld be obvious to longtime readers. If you were not already a fan of tlac, then you probably won't read 3.0, so those discussions seemed unnecessary. The short, compact clips continued to help me the most and the longer ones were kind of hard to digest and understand. I think seeing the high level summary of a lesson in a single video made it harder to know what I should focus on. Overall, it was a great resource, and the new techniques have been really helpful, which is why I still would recommend for long time tlac readers.

Wonderful Read
I haven’t even made it to the second page of the first chapter and I already love it. Often times when I purchase books on school curriculum/strategy/management/etc I come away with…well nothing, really. They tend to have a general feel with no real substance, little to nothing that I can actually take back into the classroom. However this book here…just on the first page of chapter 1 I’m coming away with ideas, I’m ready to revamp my lesson plans, I’m excited about the possibilities. This book is just what I’ve been looking for!

Best Teacher Engagement Book
This is the latest addition of my favorite book. I have use this book as a book study with colleagues to increase engagement as well as classroom management. It is packed full of ideas with videos, so you can see what they look like in action. I just bought this book for my student teacher to kick off her career and she is so excited to learn more of the strategies that I do in my class and find routines that work for her too

A great resource for any teacher
Brilliant coaching and learning resource for any teacher no matter experience level, I've been teaching 20+ years and still found it useful. I use this when I coach less experienced teachers and for explaining why I do something the way I do. Nice balance of research based implementation and crucially examples in real classrooms. Well thought-through guidance.
