Exactly What I Expected
Very happy with this purchase It's exactly what I expected. A great way to provide drainage and good looks to any planter. Perfect sized bits of lava and colorful stones. Big color difference between the dry and wet stones. Be sure to rinse them as the powder dulls the true color and rinsing helps to remove the sediments. Definitely recommend.

Excellent for use with artificial plants.
I ordered multiple artificial succulent plants from Amazon; several pots including a beautiful Mexican Ceramic Pot and the above Lava Rock Pebbles to make several planting. All of them turned out to be very beautiful in my wife's and my own opinion. Since the plants are artificial & the above Lava Rock Pebbles would have been fairly expensive if I filled all of the pots I had, from top to bottom with them to hold the plants, I did the following to save appreciable costs for stones & pebbles purchases: 1) I got 15-20 lbs of fine beach sand first 2) I filled about 1/2 to 2/3 of the pot with the sand depending on the height of the pot and the length of the individual artificial succulent planting wire at their bottoms 3) then I added to almost the top of the pot the Lava Rock Pebbles that were quite beautiful post preparation 4) Next step was to arrange the plants until my eye and brain were satisfied with the overall look. 5) On one planter pot, the superb looking, $100 Mexican Ceramic 15" long rectangular one, I also added a centerpiece of artificial orchids surrounded by the lower in height, quite beautiful, variably colored and types of artificial succulents including both upright & hanging types. I also sprinkled a few gorgeous, light gathering, colored, artificial, variably-colored, translucent plastic gemstones, between some of the spaces that I kept between most of the succulents. All of the artificial succulents Orchid , stones and lava rocks and most, but not all, of the pots were Amazon purchases.

Very nice
This will be my first time transitioning some of my plants from soil, airy mix to semi hydro. I felt my plants weren’t thriving in the previous medium so after doing some research, this was recommended. Quality seems very nice and appealing to the eye. Drains well of course, but I will definitely have to monitor these more often than my other plants in soil. The price seems a bit high, but compared to Lechuza Pon it’s a more affordable option. I do wish the pieces were slightly smaller to fill in gaps better, but time will tell how well the roots navigate through. Oh, I highly recommend rinsing prior to use. This removes all tiny particles, sediments, whatever the proper term is. It will help eliminate a mess in self watering planters every time you water your plants. Other than that, I’m happy and I will provide an update in about 30-60 days.

Looks great on my succulents and cactus
I use perilite in my soil mix and it floats to the top and gets dirty and ugly. Top dressed my pots with these and they look so much better. I did rinse them a few times until the water ran clear to get all the dust off. Made the colors brighter. Also, my bag actually weighed more then 5.7 oz so not short changed as a couple of other reviewers complained about. No extra dirt in the bottom just all rocks. Very pleased with this purchase. Will buy more.

Nice addition to desert tanks!
Adds a nice texture for your desert enclosures. Helps to retain moisture, adds traction in dirt, size is roughly small pebble sized, decent value for money, and these work well for growing plants. They help to root the plant in place and pack it down. The rocks also can provide nutrients for critters seeking minerals from stone/rocks.
