Review: Great aid - This book is an easy read. Make sure you have post its or some type of text marker unless you want to be bending the pages. I love that it's an easy read and has a lot of helpful tips. It's not that this book holds any secrets or it's stuff we never do, it just gives parents a little clarity on how to make the moments with our kids more meaningful by turnimg them into teachable moments without it being boring or something embarrassing you don't wanna do in public. My youngest is becoming more talkative as time goes on-do I give credit to the book? In a way, yes, it helped open up my eyes to things I was already doing that made me feel good but it also provided me with other options of things I just was not considering. Consistency is key of course. Worth the money and I would buy it again. Also when you don't need it anymore pass it on to a friend who might need it for their kids. 🥰
Review: UMMM this book is so fantastic. If you're a new mom or aunt - UMMM this book is so fantastic. If you're a new mom or aunt, like I am, you often feel overwhelmed with talking with a toddler and figuring out ways to interact with them. If you talk to them like a baby, you risk developmental issues but then on the other hand, they like being talked to like babies!!! It's a catch 22. This book was an amazing resource to help battle some of this issues and really helped come up with fun and creativegames that also help develop their skills! Some of these things are simple and common sense - like reading to your child being a good thing - common sense, we all read to our children (hopefully) but there were other things like how to deal with the dentist or religion - but done for a toddler - which was amazing! I mean to be honest, some adults need to read this just for engaging with other adults lol... but real talk, this book is incredible as a resource for any new parent or someone dealing with a toddler on a regular basis. I do wish the book had images but I get it, this book is genuinly an educational resource for you and it should be treated as such! Definitely some fun ways to encourage developmental growth - my niece had such a fun time making home made card with me - what a great card. Her parents appreciated it too :)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great tool to foster communication!
*by A***A on August 31, 2016*

This book is a great guide for anyone interacting with children, whether it be a seasoned parent or new, someone who works with children, or even I God-parent like me. I always knew that you were supposed to talk with children to support language growth, but it felt awkard at times. Authors Teresa and Laura Laikko have given me ideas in using conversations that directly correlate to the child and your interactions together. I like their ideas of using "Parallel talk," which consists of talking aloud to describe what your child is doing. I've started to use this frequently as my God-daughter is not very verbal yet. What I like most about this book is that many concepts that can be used continously as a child grows, even if the child isn't very verbal like reading engaging books together (flaps, flips, and textures), using bath paints and "painting" with water on the sidewalk. As the child gets older, concepts like "Calendar Time (Learning days of the week)," "Mystery Bag (Describing the shape and feel of objects)" and helping them make their own books are great learning tools that are not only fun, but engaging.
