Hello, I'd be glad to help you to understand and interpret your readings. For people who do not have previous experience with EMF meters, we recommend you use "μ W/cm2" (microwatts per square centimeter) as your unit of measurement. You can change this by pressing the "Unit/Enter" button until the unit you want appears; it will be just below the readings and to the right of the "XYZ" symbol on the screen. This is a much less sensitive unit of measurement and will probably make it easier for you to read. Although there is no universally agreed upon "safe levels" of EMF radiation, we believe that users should not let the readings exceed 0.003 μ W/cm2 in their environment. Anything above this is considered unsafe, and may require steps to be taken in order to reduce the radiation levels you are being exposed to. For example, a reading of 0.002 would be a safe environment, while a reading of 0.008 would indicate moderate levels of harmful radiation, and a measurement of 0.205 would mean you are being exposed to dangerously high levels of EMF. **Q: What kind of battery does this use?  Is it internal and rechargeable or do you place the batteries inside and if so, what size / type battery?  Thanks**
A: I am sorry for the delay in my answer. This device uses regular 9v battery (comes with it). You can use any rechargeable 9v battery. But, before you buy this device, I need to let you know that I find it to be no so accurate. The numbers keep jumping up and down, in high values, making the device useless. It has a way to lock on the max value, but does not show the real time number. I am going to send the supplier an email asking them if this is expected. I used to have an analog one, and it showed some small/ minute variation in readings, but still manageable. I bought this digital device, because I thought I can get a better, accurate reading. This might be more detail than expected, but hope it is useful.

**Q: Does this emit any kind of rf itself? i am highly sensitive to wi-fi radiation. it effects my heart condition. so can't have anything that emits it**
A: Hello,The RF Meter is only measure the RF signals. It does not emits RF.

**Q: Will this meter measure the frequency from a high voltage power line running in front of our land? Need to know how far to build for it to be safe.**

The HF-B3G won't measure low frequency EMF. In order to do so we recommend you using the MG-300 or the MG-2000T.

**Q: Why are reading alot higher when held in my hand versus setting on table (ball not touching anything)?  also why read higher on Y axis?**
A: Hello,

The reason for higher reading might be that your body serves as an antenna or a reflector of the signal back to the meter.
Please ensure that your cell phone turned off when you do the measurements.

Overall, I love this device. It appears to be very accurate based on tests with other similar devices and it seems to measure most of what I would like it to. The one thing I wish it did is measure in milli gauss.
