RIDGID 23332 345 Flaring Tool, Pipe Flaring Tool for 45-degree flares Gray Small

I bought this tool hoping it would do a better job than the cheap one I bought at Rona. This one is robust, and more importantly precise. Allowing flaring 3/8 in and 5/8 in tubes well enough for good connections on a r410 tube network for heat pump.

I have always shied away from buying the big box store version of this tool because of the inconsistent results they give. Rest assured this is well made and yields excellent, clean flares that seal perfectly every time. UPDATE July 25, 2013 After using this to make a few hundred flares, it has held up well and performed flawlessly. All you have to do is cut the pipe cleanly, squarely, deburr and insert it ever so slightly proud of the block. tighten it down and pop out another perfect flare!

If you do a little research on 45° flaring you will find no problem using this tool. It centers properly and works fantastic, it feels very premium and will last a long time.

After reading a couple of negative reviews, I was hesitant to buy this Flaring Tool, but I had only one gas line to repair, so I took a chance. I cut the damaged section of copper tubing away, and practiced on that piece. The tool worked fine. So I put it on the freshly cut end of the remaining gas line, and again, it worked fine. Pressured up and tested the line...no leaks. This was copper tubing, but for this application, this tool is perfect.
