Can you cut the top off regular size eggs with this?

No. No. No. No way. It works only with tiny eggs like quail eggs. I failed to read the entire spiel when I ordered, and now I am looking for a steady supplier of quail eggs.

What is the country of origin of these shears ?

I’m sure is China 😅 but they are excellent quality and very sharp. Makes excellent sharp cuts on eggs and seems like they never loose their sharpness 😉
