The locking mechanism takes some elbow force to truly lock in tight, to where I can re-zero with a button push and doesn't change the indication. The short mounting stem over the spindle, sometimes causes interference with the locking knob on the arm, depending on how I am trying to orient and setup the measurement. Service: Within a year of purchase I lost the contact tip to the indicator, by my own fault.
