Smart design, compact size, light weight
It's strange that the wood is not treated with anything, it needs to be coated with oil and wax to prevent the appearance of unpleasant odors. The handle of the knife is made of plastic, which makes it light, but feels cheap. Overall, a great item, convenient storage of the knife inside on a magnetic mount.

Excellent Product
Item received in good condition & speedy. Very solid and can be use as IGT 1 unit. Brought the L size snow peak mesh cover and it fit very very snuggly. Looking forward to bringing this out for my camping trip

Great for all of our weekend wine trips, but DON'T FORGET to oil it
I really like this set. The knife is good enough, but it would be nice if it was more of a standard size so I could use other knives (I far prefer Heinkel). In reading the reviews they are right: You HAVE to oil this board.

Great board and good cheap knife. Oil the board!
Got the board Saturday. Unboxed last night. The board came dry. Knife came sharp. 1. Oil the board. If you don't oil the board, it will warp. Simple smear a thick layer of mineral/olive/canola/grape seed/flaxseed oil, and let it soak into the wood. This board is thin, flatsawn wood. 2. Board is nicely machined, and sits stable. 3. Knife is wickedly sharp, but cheaply made....a good cheap knife. It's not a $300 Heiji santoku, but I'm shocked at how good this is... considering that this is essentially a free knife. I have considered making my own board for a long time, but glad I didn't. It would cost me at least as much in materials as to just buy this board....and my time is much too expensive.

Super sharp
I like a really sharp knife and this is the best I've ever owned. I can't fault it. The blade is very fine and the wooden chopping board/ carrying case provides complete protection.
