BG36 COMPACT Inspection Tool Bag

The Service bag is nice. Its well made; however, I use Fieldpieces Flagship MulitMeter 640 and it barely fits. You would think that Fieldpiece would at least make it deep enough to comfortably fit their High End multimeters?I have been using it for several months and have some misgivings about their "magnetic" latching system.... With the above meter in place sometimes its difficult getting the Flap to lock in and can cause the top cover to come undone. Also the sides are not stiffly reinforced causing the sides to bulge out. Fieldpiece should have used a wire reinforcement or some hard paneling in the sides to stiffen the sides a little better.The Top Flap internally has a stitched spandex to slip tools in... The stitching is at irregular intervals providing different options for fitting tools in.Like any Service tech Drings are essential for clipping attachments onto it. Fieldpiece did not leave very many options for this but I still attach my Bluetooth Gauge Case and another bag the holds my Pitot tubes and Hoses. I use the Side pocket for my SDMN6 Dual Port Manometer as the Internal "Two Meter" area causes too much bulging and makes accessing all the pockets and areas in the bag difficult.The Shoulder strap is Amazing well padded and well placed for side hanging, and in this configuration the top Flap folds outwards and produces a little working table which is helpful if you have no where to set your bag down or you would like to work directly out of the bag while standing at the equipment.Overall I am ready for Summer with this new bag. It seems just right for Service Troubleshooting.

It's a great tool bag. When you need to have just so many items to effectively do your job. This is perfect.The lid and closing it could use a little work so that it closes without having to tuck the sides in. The only down to the bag. Hardly worth a word.

I am/was using this as a compact tool bag (no meters, etc). This bag has a lot to like - perfect size to carry a lot of items without the size available to make it unpleasantly heavy, good internal organization, comfyto carry, and the flip lid with the half magnetic/half mechanical clasp is quite nice. Big flaw in my use was the lack of a solid base. There is a nice vinyl covering on the bottom which is probably 95% waterproof on wet surfaces, but the bag is unstable. I always had problems with it tipping over towards the front pocket...and if it did so with a little bit of speed, the clasp on the lid would not be able to contain the contents...instant switch from organized carrier to hand tool yard sale.If Fieldpiece can integrate a Veto-style solid base onto this bag without blowing the price up its a winner. FWIW I replaced this bag in daily use with a Veto TP XL - the quality is just that little bit higher and it has the rigid base, BUT despite looking a little larger it falls just short of holding the same amount of gear.Bottom line: 4 star tool bag (and prob 5 star when used for meters and a few tools as intended). Add rigid base and keep price stable - 5 stars.

Fits all my tools I need to troubleshoot a system.

If you are a technician that gets called out to troubleshoot a system to than sale a repair or a brand new unit than this bag is for you. However, if you are a service technician that will perform PM work and do actual work, than this bag can be a hassle. You know as technicians we dont have enough tools, so you will find yourself toggling through the bag to find that service wrench, in the process you will take out other tools to get to the one you need. I wish they made an open tool bag like a Veto, thats rigid and open. Grab and Go.This tool falls over also, when the cover is forward, it can be frustrating sometimes, I find myself leaning it up on a wall.
