convenience and simplicity
Grqeat price on a product that seems to perform better than more expensive products. Very simple to use and understand. I've used this device to ensure performance of an electro-magnetic bone growth stimulator on a daily basis as suggested by my surgeon. This device diagnosed a failure of the stimulator after a week which allowed me to exchange for a new one. I wouldn't have been able to diagnose the failed stimulator without the detector I purchased on Amazon! THANKS!!

Missing the battery cover
The device works but the package the device came in was open and the EMF was laying outside the package and mixed in with other items shipped in the same box. I would just like to get the battery cover for this device, should not be asking to much .

The Price is Right Bob... but the design sorta sucks
Here's wishing someone/anyone/anywhere had mentioned the following -- had they, perhaps I wouldn't have bought this puppy..... One MUST CONSTANTLY KEEP the little button DEPRESSED in order for this to work. Let go of the button and she shuts off/turns off completely!!!!! Now... as I said, had I that info prior to the buy, I probably wouldn't have bought this item. That button is, simply put "a pain in my little behind!!" It's delicate, your finger gets tired, and it's more or less designed for the left-handed person (at least IMHO). It's just truly a pain to use while keeping that darned button depressed!! I really expected a button that would turn the unit on with a click, and off with a second click - nope, ain't gonna get it here!! I feel totally duped by all the sites that sell this puppy cuz it appears that's all they wanted to do -- sell it. Additionally, a simple 'back and forth' switch would've been preferred on this. And no, I'm not out to redesign the thing - but come on manufacturers!!! One wouldn't want to keep the battery in it --even while carrying it-- due to the fact that it is waaaaaay too easy to turn on itself should ANYTHING touch it/or if it presses against an inside pocket, or or etc.... you get the idea. This is the MOST delicate button on earth! Now that I'm sort of stuck owning it though, my needs shall be fullfilled however due to my 'keen & inventive' engineering that I've come up with in order to: 1) keep the unit on for whatever amount of time I decide, and 2) keep the darn thing off no matter where I take it or how I store it. So who cares about a couple of rubber bands or electrical tape covering the last couple of mG lights... once I hit there, I know I've really hit gold! And should I lose the rubber washers that I'm using to surround the teeeeny-tiny-little button in order to keep the power off no matter what comes into contact with it.... well, I bought a dozen -- that oughtta last me a couple of months or so I'll hope.... as long as I don't run out of the essential tape or rubber bands used to hold the darned washer in place. So Bob, with regards to all the complaining above - 'Mr Barker, I deduct 2.5 stars!' .....but for the fact that it goes up to 30mG, and for the price vs. the alternative options out there on a simpleton's budget - 'Bob, I'll give it an extra star.' Being less than 1/2 the price of a K2 Meter - who's to babble on about tape and rubber band issues otherwise! My math brings the rating somewhere between 2.5-3 stars, but the fact that I've turned it into my own private Idaho (once I've secured the button 'on') - well 4 stars it shall be!!! Honestly, it is a decent meter.... S-I-M-P-L-E but nice enough (as an alternative cheap meter). If I could only give it 3.5 stars I would, but since I can't - I'm knocking it up one rung to level 4. But just a forewarning here to others checking out prices and products... don't forget to also toss in that roll of electrical tape while you're purchasing this thing! Washers & rubberbands can probably be found in your kitchen drawer! Just don't expect no quarter or dime or even a toothpick to hold this little button down - you're gonna have to work it out ingeniously otherwise.

EMF detectors seems to work
Hi, this little detector taught me some interesting things about common applicances and phones in my home that surprised me. It is helpful to know what is emitting "unsafe" amounts of electromanetic fields. It also helped to figure out how far away you should be to stay in a safe zone. The only problem with this particular unit, and since it is very inexpensive maybe it is ok, is that you have to push the button more than once to get it to operate. Other than that it is very easy to use. If you are thinking of ghost hunting with it, I doubt this is the one for you, because once you press the button it takes one reading, the lights go up and down the indicator area to tell you about what the measurement is and then it stops, requiring you to press the button again, meaning it is only good for one reading at a time. For the ghost huntering you would need one that is continuiously checking, not simply on then off.

PROTECT YOUR BABY'S BRAIN - MEASURE EM FIELDS AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARE NOT CLOSE TO YOUR BABY!
ElectroSensor Electro Magnetic Field Detector is the most economical sensor to own for anyone with severe Electromagnetic/Radio Frequency sensitivity EM/RF Although it does not help with RF, the EM fields picked up by this sensor are in the 1.3 to 30 milliGauss display range, which is more than enough to give you an idea of what might be causing real health issues. While it is true that it is annoying to keep your finger on the small button to keep the sensor on, I have solved this problem by putting a thick rubber-band around it to keep the button pressed while I'm using it. It also measures EM Fields from security monitoring devices of your neighbors' which might be encroaching all the way through your exterior walls and into your sensitive body. If you have a baby, you definitely want to buy one of these to make sure that your baby's head is no where close to any EM Fields! My microwave oven throws a 3 foot field into an adjoining bedroom. What if your baby's crib was pushed up against that wall - definitely not good. I am now glad that I did not spend hundreds of dollars to measure RF fields.

Worked at first...broke too soon.
It broke not long after I purchased it. Pay a little more and get yourself one that will last. I ended up getting one called "Cell Sensor". It's still working fine.

Excellent Emf Detector
If i had the opportunity to edit this design id've added a separate battery indicator and also a on and off switch and separately a reset test switch otherwise still does what it is supposed to. Valuable for its size and economic, I learned which devices give high emf readings tv,wirless routers, etc and so much exposure to these radio fields its a wonder we have yet to see the effects on cellular body function levels as the emf increases with our technological advances.... Another downfall to this product is the contstantly haveing to keep the main button depressed to turn it on then hold it more to watch it do the emf reading, hence my other suggestions..

A very good low cost EMF Radiation detector
I wasn't sure if this product would live up to expectations, but it is first class. The instructions are embeded inside the gatefold of the supplied packaging sleeve. You simply hold down a small button. A few seconds later the lights come on as the unit performs a self test. Keep the button held down at all times. If you let go the unit will turn off and you will need to press and hold it down again to restart the process. The unit appears to be reasonably sensitive. You just point it at a device and it will detect its EMF output. Something like a microwave oven is a good starting point. No lights mean minimal or no EMF output; green is very low, then the scale climbs through yellow, orange,, with red being very strong. The colour scale makes it so simple to understand. I have tried this out on several friend's homes with surprising results! Definately a high recommendation from me.

Useful
It is very interesting to check the radiation of places where we normally work or live. Nevertheless, it seems that it just measures the magnetic radiation but not the electric one or the one issued by mobile phone towers.

But will come in useful as sniffer for EMFs around
Don't know why I got this, really. I do observe it only reacts to 50/60Hz. But will come in useful as sniffer for EMFs around.
