Review: Replacement blades - These were bought for my son whose shaver needed replacement heads. The size fits the model he has. Was easy to replace and hopefully will last as long as the ones that came with the razor. He did comment to me that he is getting a smoother shave now and it’s not irritating his skin so much. I told him now he knows when his blades need replaced. He knows he has a good razor and it is a sturdy brand so if he takes proper care of it, it should last him awhile. As for shaving distance, that is hard for him to describe other than in his words “ I can feel a difference with the new blades, there is not any stubble.”

**Q: What is the improvement from HQ8?**
A: my original cutting blades were dull, taking me way to long to shave.  the new heads seemed to perform the same as the original blades did when they were new. I didn't experience an improvement.

**Q: The Phillips website says the HQ8 is now replaced by this SH50 blade. This is more expensive than the HQ8 but how much better quality is it?**
A: You will see he HQ8 vary in price due to discontinued, but the part # is HQ8/52 which the last of the HQ8’s are already HQ8/52. 

There are less negative comments about the newer blade.

**Q: Do the blue clips that hold everything in place come with the replacement blades?**
A: No.  I received just the blades and reused my original blue chips.

**Q: What is the difference between a norelco replacement head sh50 and sh 50/52?**
A: Hello! They are exactly the same shaving heads. The number behind the forward slash refers to the country of sale or the type of packaging.

These were bought for my son whose shaver needed replacement heads. The size fits the model he has. Was easy to replace and hopefully will last as long as the ones that came with the razor. Works fine, just like the original. The price is ridiculous. They cost a third of the price of whole new shaver. $12-15 would be a reasonable price. They recommend replacing them once a year, but unless you're shaving your whole body, you'll get a lot longer than a year out of them. (Edit- packaging says replace every 24 months, not 12 like in pictures and description) I usually replace them every 3 years or so.
