Dorman 90825 Interior Door Handle

Was easy to install with only having to remove 4 bolts off the door panel. Only thing is since it's new you have a nice plastic squeak when opening the door. I'm sure this will wear down after a little use but not really an issue.

Very easy to install and looks pretty good. I spent the most time trying to find out why I couldn’t remove the panel. Finally discovered that there is a panel behind the door handle that can be popped off and has a screw holding it.

It squeaks more than it should. I added a ton of grease but it still squeaks. The OEM one is built out of plastic and metal while this is only plastic. Other than that it fits well and matches perfectly.

Excellent value. Just as good as the one that came from the factory. Incredibly easy to install, took about 5 minutes. I have a 2011 extended cab F150 XLT with a 3.5 liter engine. No need to remove the door panel. You will need a small hook like apparatus. I used a metal hoof pick. It's basically a flathead screwdriver, bent to a 90° angle near the tip (with a handle). Anything similar will do.

The Amazon picture has the door handle upside down, so I included pictures before and after installation. My son tried to open the passenger door on my 2010 Ford F-150 while the engine was running, and the door handle crumpled. I read that happens frequently. I followed the youtube video on how to replace the handle in under 9 minutes. It took me 15 minutes. My advice, watch the full video first, then don't take the door panel completely off, just tilt the top enough to reach in and unclip the broken handle, and use needle nose pliers to easily pinch the old cable through the broken handle.

Ordered this as a replacement for my passenger/front door handle. I installed this in no time flat and everything seemed fine until I went to install the trim piece that goes under the handle and over the bolt that retains the housing in place. The trim piece didn't fit securely in place. It was so close but it would only fit loosely in the OE housing and I knew it would rattle loose driving down the road. I ended up taking the whole housing out, removing the handle from the Dorman 90825 replacement and the handle from the OE housing... and swapped the Dorman 90825 handle and spring into the OE housing. This took a trivial amount of time, but I shouldn't have had to do this. Dorman should have included this trim piece that fit in their housing along with this product or engineered their housing with better tolerances. If they would include the trim piece that fit in the housing this would be a 5 star product.

I'm giving this 2 stars. The oem black trim piece does not fit in this door handle. It falls out and does not clip in. My dorman handle came scratched and chipped and even has some rust. I would give this a 1 star but the handle itself does appear to be better than oem. It's thicker and sturdier. The price is less than half of oem but you do get what you pay for.
