We go through a little more than 2 gallons of water a day (this is a 2.5 gallon container). Before, we were filling up 2 large pitchers with water (filtered from our Culligan faucet filter) and putting them in the refrigerator because we like nice cold water. This slimline container makes refilling the water much easier for me. For one, I only fill it up once a day (before I go to bed). When I refill it, I do not take the slimline container out of the refrigerator. I use my old water pitcher, fill the water up at my faucet and then pour the water into the slimline container (which again, stays inside the refrigerator). I think that will help keep down the wear and tear on the slimline container by not moving it too much. We did have to initially adjust the spout because it leaked at first. I think most people having a problem with leaks need to tighten the spout better and make sure the collar ring and the spout piece align. Also, every morning, I unscrew the top cover all the way. Just enough so that a little air can get in to make the water flow stronger. The only other thing I would mention is that you need to make sure that it isn't hanging over your shelf too far out because it can cause your refrigerator to not shut all the way. We hang it just far enough to get a rim underneath and I think I even had to adjust the shelf height at first because it was hitting something on our door. Lastly, I love this slimline container because we drink a lot of water, my younger children can easily get water for themselves and I was tired of laboring over my kitchen faucet, filling our old water pitchers ALL DAY LONG. I've had several of these (Coleman and Arrow models), use it in place of a water tank/faucet in my RV, refill it often from a hose or whatever water source. I've used these for years, after awhile algae will start to form, I wash with peroxide when that occurs. After a couple of years of use, my last [Arrow] one cracked so I ordered this one. This is the first of this particular Arrow model I've had, and I can't believe how much easier it is to carry with TWO handles (one at the front and one on the top), makes a BIG difference. I thought the company might want to know about it and take steps to make sure it wasn't repeated, AND, I hoped they'd send me a spigot. Anyway, no reply, annoying. I guess I should have handled it through desertcart, who've always been helpful. UPDATE: The dispenser cracked after about six months of use. I banged it against the counter accidentally- wanted to let you know that the plastic is brittle, not malleable, and will crack if banged against something. When the new one came, it came with the dispenser, yay, but inexplicably only a faint trickle of water came out of it. I thought it was faulty, but discovered that somehow or other the paper lining inside the large cap at the top of the dispenser was creating suction that prevented water from flowing out the spigot. I removed it, and now it works perfectly. The opening is quite large so putting in the wine and fruit will not be a problem. However, while I don't think large pieces of fruit will be a problem, small bits of pulp might clog the spout. Therefore, I suggest that you strain the sangria before putting it in this container, to remove any pits or pulp that could clog the spout. **Q: Is this a free-flowing spigot or do you have to keep pressing for water to come out?** A: It's free flowing. Just remember to loosen the cover on top so air can get in, otherwise it starts to come out slow. **Q: Can I use this for milk? I don't see why not but has anyone tried it?** A: I make about 1 1/2 gallons of non-fat dry milk at a time and the easiest way to do it is in one of these containers. I use a 2 gallon one and put in half the water, then the milk powder, shake well, then the rest of the water. However, after I make it in this, I put it in pint and half-pint glass bottles. The milk tastes much better from glass, and the bottles are easy to fill using the spigot. Then I run hot water through the container and let it air dry until next time. Had just filled with drink mix last night and woke up to find it leaked through to the floor under the fridge and down into our basement!
