First introduced in 1956, the Original Tall boot is handcrafted from 28 parts and built on the original last for exceptional fit and comfort. This iconic style lies at the heart of the Hunter Original British brand. Fully waterproof and functionally led, Hunter also provide an aesthetic, for which the rainboot has developed a global fashion following.

Review: Great boots but need half-sizing - I live in Seattle, have a dog and wear these boots every day in the rain and mud -- while also walking on a lot of concrete. (I bought inserts so ease the PSI on the pavement.) I especially like the height of the boot which is 17" -- taller than almost all other rain boots. They also have a slightly higher heel than most rain boots - not much but a little. I like that feature. The downside is I wear a 10.5. While I decided on a 10 (I tried on both an 11 and a 10) the 10 is a might bit snug so I can only wear only the thinnest of socks -- so kind of wish I had bought an 11. If I had one wish, I wish Hunter would make half-sizes. I have only purchased "knock-offs" before and they normally last only two winters before a crack sets in. I will be interested to see if Hunter Boots hold up longer. They look a lot better than knock-offs -- but they also cost 3 to 4 times as much!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I usually wear an 8 do they run true to size? Are they form fitting, that's what I am looking for?**
A: I wear a 7.5-8 but got an 8 for wearing with thick socks. With thicker socks on they fit perfectly. With bare feet or regular socks, these boots fit bigger on my foot. The 7 was too small for me for what it’s worth.

**Q: Are the matte boots not water resistent?  (see comparison chart for water resistence level).**
A: I have them and I was wondering about that too actually. I noticed that the front of my feet were slightly wet when I came home but couldn’t be sure if it was me sweating or the boots letting water through...

**Q: Why does the description say 100% leather? These are supposed to be plastic rain boots. Are these guaranteed to be the real hunter boots?**
A: Umm... The description of the boot WE bought is 
   > Rubber
   > Rubber sole
   > Durable lightweight rubber upper
   > Adjustable buckle strap on the side of the boot
   > Textile lining offers maximum comfort
   > Synthetic rubber sole provides great traction
   > Waterproof
In other words, rubber, not leather. They appear to be of very good quality. I've no way of knowing whether they're genuine Hunter boots.

**Q: why is there no red dot on the bottom of the boot?**
A: Depending on size and model, Hunter boots will have a different colored dot on the sole. It doesn’t have to be red. As long as the dot is there and the logo is imprinted on the buckle, inside the boot, and the front, the boots are 99.99% likely to be authentic. The color of the dot has nothing to do with it ;)
