Works great with an Intex Easy-Set Pool!
We have an above ground, Intex Easy-Set pool. I've struggled with keeping it clean the entire time we've had it. I first tried a manual vacuum that connected to the filter intake, but the filter struggled with it (like trying to suck water through a REALLY long straw) and it was a hassle to set up and use. Then I tried a self powered vacuum that attached to a pole...this worked better but was a lot of work and time consuming because you constantly had to stop and clean out the small debris filter. Then I tried one of those automatic filters than you attach to the water inlet...this worked OK but didn't filter small particles, did not have any kind of scrubbing action and was also a bit of a hassle to set up (having to shut the filter off, attach the huge hose, restart the filter, etc.) Which brings me to the Dolphin. Of all the cleaners I've tried, this is by far the best in terms of ease of use and cleaning ability. You plug it in, chuck it in the pool and run a cycle (or two). It gets the pool as clean as any of the methods I've tried but with almost none of the work or drawbacks. Couple things of note... Our Intex pool has sloped edges, I was worried about this causing the Dolphin to tip over or have problems. This hasn't happened...the Dolphin is totally stable and a happy discovery was that even though this model is not designed to do so...the sloped sides allow the Dolphin to climb the walls pretty well. One downside is that because of the shape of the corners of the pool and the size of the Dolphin, it can't really reach all the way into the corners...I had to use a brush to push the debis out of the corners for the Dolphin to grab. I've seen a couple complaints about the Dolphin doing "wheelies" all the time and not cleaning because of this. Ours does do wheelies every now and then...but I'm pretty sure this is by design. From watching it, it seems to do wheelies as a method of changing direction. It'll pop up on it's back wheels, turn, then lay back down and keep going. Another complaint I've seen is in regards to the filter basket not catching small particles. Based on those complaints I went ahead and ordered the additional "ultra-fine" filter (which is made of a papery mesh material, similar to a pool cartridge filter). In hindsight, I don't think I needed to buy that. I don't know for sure but I "think" they may have upgraded the included filter at some point as the standard filter has no problem catching algae particles and the regular "pool scum" type stuff. The included filter basket is not made with the same "pool cartridge" material, but does still have a very fine screen that seems to get everything. I have not even tried the additional filter as I haven't needed it. So anyhow...they're expensive compared to many options. But if you like having a very clean pool with little effort...this is the way to go!

Rosie is amazing!
We named her Rosie.... I pondered over literally hours of different robo vacuums, read countless reviews, and even drove to the pool store to pick their brains. I settled on this model for my above ground, 24 foot round pool. I cannot speak for longevity because I have used it three times now, but so far I absolutely love this vacuum and think it works great! I have, up until now, only used the hose type vacuums that run through the pool pump. I cannot be happier to put this into the water and push a button and walk away. The suction is great and I feel works a lot better than the hose version. It runs for about an hour and a half and then just hangs out until I gently pull it out. It's crazy easy to empty and clean. I actually like the corded version rather than the cordless options out there. I just think its more reliable, but personal preference there. The cord stays out of the way and I haven't had any issues with it twisting or tangling. I also purchased the 'ultra fine' basket (an off brand version), but while I was waiting for that to come I was pleasantly surprised how much the basket collected that it comes with. I will alternate between them going forward as the ultra fine did grab more than the included basket. For what it's worth, I do think the fine and ultra fine baskets should come with it for the price, but there are more reasonably priced alternatives than the Dolphin brand if you look. Overall I am extremely happy with this vacuum and hope it lasts a very long time.

Robot works great, warranty statement on listing needs to be clarified.
I've waited to write this review until we used this robot for a decent amount of time. I can say that it is a real time saver when it comes time to clean the pool. Almost every time I clean my pool it covers nearly every inch of the pool and it cleans very well. There have been a few times when it didn't get the entire pool floor, but it generally does great. I think one of the best things about the robot is that it has a self contained filter basket. So there's no hooking it into your filter. I have many trees around my pool and they drop a good amount of dirt into the pool. Typically I put the robot in the pool every day because there's dirt on the pool floor. All the dirt is captured in the robot's filter basket. This means I need to clean my pool filter much less often. When the robot is done cleaning I take it out of the pool and put it in my shed. Then I clean the filter basket which takes about 30 seconds. All in all I spend maybe 5 minutes a day putting the robot into the pool then taking it out and cleaning the filter basket. I used to spend 30 - 45 minutes every other day with the vacuum that connected to my pool filter via hose. This robot has done and incredible job cleaning my pool and saving me time. So why only 3 stars? Two reasons. 1. On the Amazon page for the robot it says quite clearly "The E10 is backed by a 2 year manufacturer's quality warranty protecting your investment." That was one of the main reasons I bought it. When you spend this kind of money you expect a longer warranty. My opinion is the warranty should be at least 3 years but there are few robots, if any, with a warranty that long. However, even though the listing says it has a 2 year warranty, when you get the robot and you look at the warranty card you can see what the warranty really is. The warranty card says 2 years for plastic parts and 1 year for cable, power supply and motor unit. Why not make that clear in the listing?? If you look at one of my images you'll see the actual warranty card statement that I put a red box around. It's highly unlikely a plastic part is going to fail in 2 years. It's way more likely something mechanical or electrical will fail. So they are being very deceptive about the true warranty on the unit. I did buy the extended warranty through Asurion, but I'm not holding out much hope they'll actually be helpful if needed based on reviews I've read about them. Hopefully I never have to find out. 2. Customer service appears to be non-existent. When I received my unit the filter basket had a hole in it. I know that sounds bad but it was in a place where it didn't really have a negative affect on the operation. However, being a new unit and being quite expensive I wanted to get the filter basket replaced with one that didn't have a hole in it. I called their support line and got no answer. I then sent an email and got no response to my email. So I'm assuming they don't really have a customer support group. Or if they do then they just don't care about actually helping their customers. I ended up having my wife sew up the hole in the basket. If you look at my other image you can see where she sewed up the hole. Filter works fine, but like I said, this is an expensive item and I should be able to expect quality. I do recommend the robot. Just keep in mind the 2 year warranty is not a complete warranty and good luck with their customer support if you need it. ***Update 6-27-2019*** After my review went public I the company responded to my comment almost immediately. I emailed them at the email address they gave in the response to my comment. They apologized for the lack of customer support during my initial attempts to reach out to them and they sent me a new filter to replace the one that had damage when I got the product new. So apparently I was just unlucky when I first tried to reach them. Since writing the review my experience with their customer service has been stellar. I still think the warranty statement for the product on Amazon needs to be clarified, but because of the great customer service I finally got I'm not going to remove any points for that. If I could give 4.5 stars I would. But all in all the product works great and customer service took quickly took care of the issue once I was able to reach them.

Great pool cleaner
This is an excellent pool cleaner. It is really well designed, sturdy construction, and has done a great job cleaning the bottom of my above-ground pool. I used it all last season and have started to use it for the 2025 pool season. It made short work of cleaning some winter debris from the bottom (pool was covered but some leaves still got in). Recently we had a severe hail storm and a lot of leaves and unripe wild cherries fell into the pool from the nearby tree. The first run of this cleaner completely filled its basket with the cherries and leaves. It took 3 runs to clear the bottom but then the pool was clear again. I love that I can put this in and let it run and it'll move all over the bottom of the pool and collect the dirt and debris into its basket. The basket has a latched bottom, so it is easy to empty and rinse out with a garden hose. My only complaint is the ring of blue LEDs that circle the power button are blindingly bright. They need to be turned down!! They also stay on after the cleaner has timed out and stopped, which makes no sense. I put the controller in our pool deck box just so the blue light isn't shining all night after it finishes running. Highly recommended pool cleaner!

Great cleaner for a 24 foot round above ground pool!
I had been using a really good Nitro NC51 Wall Climber Robotic Pool cleaner for the past 8 years for my 24' round above ground pool. It was a GREAT pool bottom cleaner that also cleaned the walls up to the water line. But 2 years ago I spent $250 to replace the cord and the power supply. Last week the pump motor died. Decided not to sink any more money into the old Nitro which is hard to find parts for these days. Time for something new. Did a lot of research and bought the Dolphin E10 (which rumor has it is the same unit as the Dolphin S50 and Escape...just different colors). Honeymoon phase? Yes...it arrived today and I had it in the water 15 minutes after I un-boxed it. I'll give an update in a month or so after I've used it a few times. Fingers crossed. Pros ------ 1) Cleans great. This new cleaner cleans the floor of my pool better than my old Nitro. Note that I also bought the Ultra Fine Filter Basket with the E10 so I don't know how well the the regular filter basket works. 2) Very easy to swap in/out the Ultra Fine Filter Basket or the stock basket that comes with the unit. There is nothing to change out on mine. Read some reviews where you had to change something to swap baskets. Not on mine. 3) Although it is not designed to climb the walls, this one went up the wall about a foot or two....at least today it did. 4) The cord does not get tangled. My old cord on my Nitro used to tangle up all the time. This one is brand new and I had zero tangling...I don't know, maybe I just got lucky. Cord is very thick and seems more heavy duty that my last cleaner's cord. 5) Very easy to use. Easy to put in the water, easy to connect and power up. After the 1st 90 minute cycle was done, my pool was about 90% clean. Only a couple of spots near the edges of the pool bottom were not cleaned. So I turned the power button off then back on and ran it for another 90 mins. (Note: I read in the manual after that it's recommended to wait 30 seconds before turning back on again for another cycle. I'll do that next time.) Pool was virtually spotless after the 2nd 90 minute cycle. Very impressed. 6) Easy to clean the filter basket when done. Just remove the basket and spray it down lightly with a hose. My old Nitro unit had a plastic frame piece and a mesh bag that I had to deal with rinsing and putting back together. This one is much easier. 7) It's pretty heavy. About twice as heavy as my old Nitro. This is both good and bad in my eyes. To me this should mean it hugs the bottom of the pool better than a lighter unit, and probably cleans better. 8) I think the "tank tracks" allow the unit to do more cleaning than spinning around like my old Nitro did which had wheels. 9) Price. Relatively speaking this unit (even with the extra $ to buy the ultra fine filter basket) is less expensive than a lot of other models. Cons ------ 1) As many have stated, it's a bummer it doesn't come stock with the Ultra Fine Filter basket. 2) The 90 minute cycle time is a bit short. My old cleaner had a 1 hour cycle time option or a 3 hour cycle time option. I wish this one also had a 2 or 3 hour cycle time. But it's really not a big deal to run it again after the first cycle ends if needed. 3) Since the unit is heavy I'm going to be extra careful when pulling the cleaner across the pool back to my deck before I pull it out of the water. I learned this from my old cleaner after spending over $100 on a new cord (and I was very careful with that cord). The cords are one of the first things to go on these cleaners. I made a "pole hook" to reach down into the water to pull the unit up to the surface of the water by the E10's handle. I can then grab the unit with my hand by the handle to take it out of the water. With the weight of this cleaner being so heavy, especially when it's loaded with water, there's no way i'd every pull it out by the cord. (Note: my "pole hook" consists of an old broom stick (without the broom) and a screw-in wall hanger that you'd normally see on the wall of someone's garage. Took me 2 minutes to screw the hanger hook into the end of the broom stick. Done. Works great to lift the E10 up to the water line.) So there you go. A lot more pros than cons. Happy camper. Only time will tell if I'll be happy over the long run.

Well worth the investment
We covered our pool this year and when we uncovered it, the algae was unbelievable. I thought we would have to drain the pool and re fill it. A friend told me to order this vacuum and I hated to spend that much $ but I didn’t want to have to buy a new vacuum every summer like I had been. Well, this vacuum is a beast!! I’m so glad I decided to go this route. I didn’t think we could get my pool as clean as we did! It did take some work about a week and we still have a little more cleaning to do. But if ur looking for a good pool vac this is the one for you.. it’s heavy duty and works like a charm. I have a few before and during pics and a video. Hope this helps. I also shocked it twice, using 2 1 lb. Bags each time. Nothing else. No chemicals as this is a salt water system. No chlorine tablets either. Just had to add water a few times because of having to backwash a couple times a day. But went from green to blue in one week

Changed my mind. Don't buy it. Broken twice!!!
Edit #3 at 3 years old. Working off and on. Fan sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Does NOT stay on the floor of the pool but rather rides on it's back wheels. We even tried zip ties with a weight to keep it down but nope. It did that straight out of the box intermittently but now is constant. I cannot explain to you how much I hate this thing. Do no buy it! Edit #2 at 2 years old, dead again. At 1yr 4 months the brain died to the machine, (see edit #1.)Company sent new one out however it was so late that the pool was too far gone. Closed early last summer. Had to drain it this year and refill. We've put the robot in, maybe 10 times in a freshly filled pool just to keep up with pollen and leaves. I've just gone out and found the brain is dead, again. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY THIS. I'm ordering a Polaris now. There's a reason the price I paid has significantly dropped. Obviously others are seeing it's trash and they're having a hard time selling them. !!Edit. At 1yr and 4months old the power supply has stopped working. I've contacted customer service and am waiting for a response. I'm sure as all things, it's a1yr warranty and we're out of luck. I'll update the review if I find otherwise. For now, the stars go down to 1. Something this expensive shouldn't have issues it's second season in. Remember... This is a pool cleaner so it's not used year round. It's been used 6 months and stored, indoors out of the sun the rest of the time.!!!!! Had this a year now. Her name is Myrtle. Best way I can describe her is you know those dudes that have sugar babies? Super expensive, way more effort than necessary for how much they cost and a headache... Yeah, well. That's Myrtle. She will go behind the steps at every conceivable opportunity. She will only suck up what she seems to be enough and not an ounce more. One stick sends her reeling and she doesn't know what to do. She's an absolute PAIN to hoist out of the water. High maintenance. Long hair in the pool tangles her fan blades. She can't be in the sun out of the water. Her brain isn't water proof, only water "resistant". Her brain also overheats in the sun so you must provide the brain with shade. You can't use the cord to pull her out of the water... BUT she's still easier than the others and I can run my filter/jet while she's scrubbing away. She doesn't have bulky hoses and crap. So, will I buy another when she dies. Yes. Will I gripe bc something this expensive shouldn't be so dang finicky? Also yes. 🤣

It even picks up sweetgum balls!
I live in a "cottage community" named Kingwood, TX, just outside of Houston. I don't expect that to mean much to the average Amazon shopper, but it's important to note that Kingwood is marketed as "The Livable Forest". When it was being developed in the 60's, 70's, and 80's, great care was taken to preserve the trees in what had once been timberland owned by paper and wood companies. The foliage is very dense. There is no place in my yard or time of year when pine needles and leaves aren't constantly falling. We even have a sweetgum tree that drops little gumball-sized pinecones that are worse to step on than lego, especially barefoot, like you would be while swimming. Our pool is under constant assault. Raking every day was a hopeless exercise in futility. We bought a battery-operated "leaf blaster" that attaches to the end of a pole and vacuums the leaves into a net bag. When gumballs weren't jamming the impeller, it was such a huge job to vacuum that the kids and I would take turns working and still be too tired to play in the pool when we finished the endeavor. Worse, if the pool started to get algae, we couldn't see the bottom to clean out the debris. We would treat/shock/filter out the algae and discover a layer of leaves at the bottom, still covered in algae that would re-infest the pool as soon as they were stirred up by a rake or the leaf blaster, leaving us blind to continue removing them, and the maddening vicious cycle would continue. It's a 27' pool with two pump inlets, so adding skimmers to those helped catch a LOT of the leaves and debris before it sank to the bottom, but the skimmers can't catch everything and the cycle continued. I asked a few neighbors, did a lot of online research, and sifted through hundreds of pool cleaning options (just watch what happens to your facebook timeline after you've googled it a few times). A highly-trusted colleague and friend bragged on and on about her Dolphin robot and the reviews were good, so I got hung up between the E10 and the more expensive Escape. The Escape purports to be able to climb walls and have better mapping of the pool surface (plus wifi/app controls, IIRC). I decided to save myself $200 and go with the cheaper E10. NO REGRETS! It doesn't matter if the water is clear or not. Just drop it in, turn it on, and walk away. Come back in an hour, empty the basket, and start it again. Lather, rinse, repeat until the basket comes out clean. It picks up leaves, pine needles, GUMBALLS, and even small sticks! If algae rears its ugly head, we can be confident that there is no debris left on the floor of the pool before kicking it with only one treatment and shock. It's not supposed to be able to climb walls, but it does occasionally go up the wall to the water line before backing back down. Reviewers complaining about it doing wheelies don't seem to understand how it works. This is how it reorients itself to change directions. An external bag instead of a filter basket would be nice so that I could add a bigger one, but then the filtration might not be as good. This isn't much of a shortcoming, because the basket is extremely easy to remove and hose out. The screens can even be popped out of it for more thorough cleaning. The power supply did fail on ours less than a year after we bought it but Maytronics, for their part, was great. They had me email some photos of the failing unit's behavior, asked a few simple questions, then sent me a new one without even asking that I return the old one (I'm a pretty technical guy, so I may try to fix it as a spare, should the new one die after the warranty expires). I REALLY wish the wire had a swivel joint on the robot (it does swivel at the power supply, sort of). After a couple of cycles, the wire will be hopelessly wound up and tangled. It's not too much of a hassle to disconnect it from the power supply and untangle it, but it shouldn't be necessary. Some users have reported good results by putting foam pool noodles over the wire to prevent it from tangling. I may try that. All in all, we have a huge above-ground pool in a notoriously hot environment with lots of trees. It's a perfect storm of conditions that can turn pool ownership into a nightmare. This robot changed our lives and was worth the expense.

Time saver
I use this in my in ground pool which is 10x20 and it is a huge time saver. We are heavily tree covered and had to vacuum the pool daily, but now the E10 does all the hard work. Very basic 1 button operation does a 1.5hr clean, usually gets it all but any missed spots I just press it again for another round of cleaning. The basket is easily emptied. Best investment for any pool owner; I would buy a Maytronics again. My only dislike is the cord can block debris on the surface from getting picked up by the skimmer but otherwise a great cleaner.
