A: Yes it can. It is very effective and make sure to not leave it too long.

**Q: Can anyone tell me how to get the point at the top going in the right direction and open so that something comes out?**
A: The pointed tip twists up and down just a little to open and close.

**Q: I saw mention of a cuticle curette in some of the reviews.  What is that?**
A: A cuticle curette is a metal manicure tool with a sharp edge on the end that is used to gently scrape the cuticle away from the nail plate using short careful strokes. Used like an orangewood stick, but with greater caution to prevent injury to nail bed and skin around nail.
