Sturdy with super simple assembly
Just what I needed! Super simple 10 minute assembly for this 68 year old grandma. Weights fit perfectly, easy in and out with no pinched fingers! Very sturdy even on carpet.

Easy to build, exceeded expectations
This was very quick to put together and feels a lot more sturdy than the plastic rack that came with my initial dumbbell set. I added a couple more weights (10/15) to my 5,8, 12 existing dumbbells. This worked perfectly and the added height is a nice plus. I was a little nervous that this was going to be as flimsy as the one I already had but it feels substantial while still being pretty light unloaded.

Sturdy, Easy Assembly.
Easy to assemble, be sure there's a ratchet tool available. Took about 15 minutes. Very sturdy. Holding 2 of these: 20, 15, 12, 10, 8.

Solid little rack, great price.
Pretty sturdy, not gonna tip over unless you really give it a shove. Seems to hold the weight good. Decent quality hardware, the metal used on the screws is decently hard so it doesn’t strip easy and you shouldn’t have to worry about over tightening. Did some good searching before pulling the trigger and I’d say this is about the best “bang for your buck” on amazon. The top two slots are pretty close together and bigger weights will not fit, my smallest (15s and 10s) do not fit. Good excuse to buy some 5s for uh idk, but good excuse. The space between the hooks, where your hand would go to pick the dumbbell off of the rack, is a little narrow. I can just barely fit three fingers. Assembly was very easy! They included an Allen wrench, unfortunately they did not include a wrench for the nut. So keep in mind you will need your own 1/2 in. wrench.

Much better than expected!
I got one of these used thinking I wouldn't be out so much money ($20.50) if it didn't work for what I wanted. It turned out much better than expected based on reviews. The holders aren't as close together as I thought, making the weights jammed or unable to take off without removing those above. I have 8-20s on very comfortably with plenty of room, and the rubber protectors aren't loose or coming off as some others said; maybe I just got lucky. I have a pair of 12s that have pretty thick handles that I thought definitely wouldn't fit but they do just fine where I have them. I tried 25s on the bottom, then 20s on the 4th etc, it worked out fine for the bottom 3, but towards the top there's less space so the 12s wouldn't work on the 2nd with the 10s above them. So for my personal ones it won't work going up to 25, but with the regular 8,10, 15, 20, 25s it works with none being blocked. I also don't have the problem of not being able to fit my hand in as others said. I'm a 5'7'' average female, so for taller people or people with bigger hands I can see it could be a problem but not everyone, if you have smaller hands and are thinking about it. I'm very happy and wasn't expecting it to turn out well! But it really is a pain to put together. I usually don't have trouble with this stuff, but the spaces at the top are so small it's hard to maneuver the wrench is such a tight space. You have the have the hex key holding the bolt while you use a wrench to tighten the nut, it's really ideal to have 2 people but I did it myself by turning it on its side with the hex key pressed in my leg. Took quite awhile and quite frustrating but it turned out fine and worth it. I definitely recommend if you're wanting one for smaller weights!

Sturdy. Easy to assemble
Absolutely perfect for my existing setup. Easy to assemble; takes a little coordination but don’t be afraid to flip it to access the screws. Took 15 minutes to assemble and will not have to touch again.

Excellent Product - Simple and Very Effective
This item is solid - the parts , manual, and end product far exceeded all expectations. I would make one suggestion - buy or borrow a ratchet wrench with a 13 mm socket- it will make assembly go MUCH faster. This is one of the highest quality products ever.. Seriously. Very smart purchase worth every cent

Smells terrible. And sizing for holding dumbbells endagers fingers.
I got this because it (a) is just the right size (smallish) for where I wanted to use it, it's (b) inexpensive, and (c) is looks pretty decent. As other reviewers have commented, it smells terrible. It has strong, unrelenting order of asphalt. I used to have some free weights with the same type of rubber on them was just like this rubber in terms of smell, and they NEVER stopped smelling. The rubber pads where you place the handles of your weights on this are what stinks. Some say that the smell goes away in a year or so. I'm not interested in it stinking up my basement for a year or more to find out. Again, the same type rubber and smell on some free weights I had (plates) never went away and I don't really believe this smell will either. What I did about this was rip off the rubber pads, which leavens bits of the rubber (because of how they are glued on) on the frame. Then, I took an old but very sharp wood chisel and scrapped off the remaining rubber (taking some of the pain with it, but it still looks fine, especially with the weights on it. So, now the issue is that when you set the weights on it, it's metal to metal. I'm okay with that. The other defect in this otherwise nicely made and sized device is that the spacing between the rungs where you put your dumbbells is NOT big enough for four fingers (and I have medium to small hands). You HAVE to use three fingers, now your whole hand, when you replace a weight in the rack or else you are going to be constantly putting the weights down on one of your fingers. Of course, this is worse now that I've scraped the stinky rubber off of the thing. So, that's a pretty dumb design flaw. There's no excuse for it, either. It would not have taken hardly any more metal to have designed the spacing of the rungs (I mean, front to back, not up and down) so that you don't have to watch your fingers when replacing the weights. Lastly, someone noted that the device comes with a warning about a chemical known to cause cancer to the state of California. Never could figure out how California is so much smarter than the rest of the states to know these things (I think that's usually BS). But in this case, with the smell of the rubber, it's not hard to believe there is a pretty nasty chemical in there. It really smells bad and the smell is of something like asphalt or a tar based, solvent like, chemical. Assuming the smell is all gone after awhile since I scrapped off the rubber, I'm okay with the rack. But if you are not willing to do that, and if you are sensitive at all to smells, you will not be happy that you bought this, even though the price is great.

Ultimate Review & Guide - Excellent Item - Just understand what you want to do with it.
I spent WAY too much time looking at different small barbell rack listings on Amazon and elsewhere. Many look shoddily built, too small, too big, no rubber grips to stop scratches - and worst of all, the reviews are so contradictory and confusing. I narrowed my shortlist to 3-4 items, but NOTHING, not the listings, nor the reviews told me what I really wanted to know. In the end I chose the "CAP Barbell Black A Frame Dumbbell Rack" because; - First off this rack is super easy to assemble & very stable (unlike many reviews say). All you need is a spanner, or best a socket wrench (have), and it took me less than 10 minutes, fully done. - I have 3 sets of 10kg, 12.5kg & 15kg Dumbells (~22/27/33 pounds) - so I wanted a 3 to 4x rack (this one is 5x). - It's well balanced, has a wide base, so is rock solid and it's specs say it holds 91kg (200 pounds). I have 75kg on it, so could add 2x 7.5kg and be under spec - and it's easily strong enough to hold a pair of 20kg, so 115kg (over spec) so it's very stable & strong WEIGHT wise. SIZE wise (as in Hex head) is trickier. - Those are kind of medium weights for an average Man, heavy for a Woman. So they're kind of larger hex heads - so the spacing between each "hook" is important. AND THAT is what I couldn't find anywhere. - Many reviews are by Women, and they say it's hard to assemble (it's not) and sometimes for little "chick's" neoprene colourful weights they don't fit and so on...or sometimes reviews are by Guys with HEAVY weights - like 20kg, 25kg, and those suckers have BIG hex heads, so they won't fit so well. - But if you're like me, and you have, say, 5kg, 7.5kg, 10kg, 12.5kg, 15kg & even 20kg large rubber head (just, especially if you only have 3-4 sets, depending on weight/size) hex dumbbells, this is a great rack. - The sizes I mention I have aren't too big - they JUST fit. But above that, you need a much bigger style of rack. This is a budget, cheap, $60AUD rack, and it works great for my small home gym. Probably also totally suitable for the smaller, candy coloured "chick's" weights. - Another problem people mention is not being able to fit your hand in between to lift the dumbbell out. I have smallish hands for a Man, and I can (just) do it for 10kg, but heavier, no - BUT that's not how you should lift heavy dumbbells out anyway - my 5th photo shows how you're meant to do it with two hands. --> FINALLY here is what I COULDN'T find ANYWHERE (for any racks!). My 6th photo shows what I suspected...the "gap" between each "hook" gets smaller as you go up. So my 3x dumbbell sets fit fine on top of each other at the BOTTOM. But at the top/they don't fit! As you can see I spaced them out anyway. My pic 6 shows with a tape measure, and they lose 2cm per "hook" as you go up. Hope this helps save some people time. But unless you have really heavy weights, I recommend this as really good home gym dumbbell rack.
