Review: Works perfectly... if you use it the right way. - This is only for phones that take a standard wired headset or wired earbud/microphone connection... the kind that has a mini plug with two slim metal bands at the end, plus tip and sleeve. It's built for the 1/8" plugs on most cellphones... but can be used with the thinner kind found on many landline phones, with a simple adapter. Mine goes between an iPhone 5S and a Panasonic office headset. The Panasonic has the thin plug, so I use a $5 adapter. It's flexible and well built. If you open the cast metal case (four large screws), there's a switch to adjust grounding and a screwdriver control to control the local volume. Also two transformers -- cleverly mounted so they don't interfere with each other -- and some other components. The instructions explain how to use these controls for best results. I opened mine out of curiosity. The factory settings worked fine out of the box. If you connect it to a stereo recorder (I have a cheap Tascam pocket one), it does a good job of separating your voice on one channel and the distant one on the other. This makes it easier to prep an interview for podcast, and get rid of your coughs or other noises while the other person is speaaking. (You can set most recorders for mono, if you don't want to use this feature.) It isn't designed to do some things. 1. You can't use it to send a recording down the phone line. 2. It doesn't auto-answer or place calls itself. You have to do that manually from the phone. 3. It doesn't connect via BlueTooth. Don't try. A BlueTooth connection won't sound as good, anyway. There are other solutions for those things. desertcart sells them.
Review: Great little device - Good piece of engineering from JK Audio. Can be used to prototype a larger system. For those experiencing noise/interference, use a shielded TRRS cable or wrap a non-shielded cable in EMI (copper) tape. This will prevent RF interference from hitting the audio cable(s). If you are not getting signal to your output device period: if using an iPhone with a lightning port, DO NOT use the Apple lightning to 3.5mm jack adapter. This adapter is lightning to TRS (no mic). Use a third-party adapter that is lightning to TRRS. The output cable should be TRS male to TRS male. Again, use shielded cables or wrap with EMI tape.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works as promised

I needed something for recording conference calls and this works great with my cordless phone and headset. Headset sound quality is good and the recording sound quality is good (although that obviously depends on the quality of the recorder). It wasn't clear to me from the description as to exactly what came with the device... It came with 3 cords. One cord is a mono 3.5 mm male to 3.5 mm male cord that goes to your recording device (or ?possibly a powered speaker for group listening, as mentioned in the product description). The other 2 (high quality) cords provide the option to connect to a phone that has either a 3.5 mm or a 2.5 mm input. The device has a 2.5 mm input, so you'll need an earpiece/mic or headset/mic that has a 2.5mm male plug. I'm using a Plantronics M214C Headset (currently $12.95 on Amazon), which is working great.
