It is mounted to the below ground pool apron with 2 screws. I only put it out when the grand kids came about one weekend a month and two weeks a summer. On the rare occasion one went in before we "opened the pool" it went off with a loud unpleasant noise in and out of the house. A false alarm would occur when the pump started in the morning and air got pushed out. This was like a daily system test unless we remembered to turn the alarm off before the pump started. We got a new one this month. It works well. Review: Not perfect, but it's the best I've found. - It's not perfect, but it works very well. I have had it installed for about 2 months now and it has never falsed, not once. And we have had some pretty serious storms in that time frame. It has gone off every single time we forgot to disarm it, including one time when my wife threw in her pool float in preparation for a swim. It weighs maybe 10 or 12 pounds at the most. There are a few things I don't like though. I really wish the keypad had a battery that would last for an hour or so in the event of a power outage.
