These are cool. Exactly as advertised. It would be cooler if there was a way to reconnect the pieces that you cut, but that wasn't in the item description, so I didn't expect them to work that way to begin with. They work exactly as I expected them to.

Still pretty cool though. Battery box makes a high pitched noise when on. It could be an issue for some.

The product I received is in fine working order and does what is reasonable to expect from EL lighting. I ordered this before understanding what EL light were. I can't use the product for what I had intended but I take responsibility for that because I didn't look into the type of lighting before purchasing. Here is what I learned. EL lighting (Electro Luminescence) lights are good for accenting costumes or car interiors etc. It can't be used as a light source. It lights up enough to be noticed but not enough to shed light around a room for example. its similar to if you charged up a glow in the dark object with light and turned off the lights. It's easily seen but doesn't produce enough light for much else. This is inherent to it's nature as the light comes from a luminescent layer surrounding some wires. The AC voltage is applied to the wires which excites the Luminescent layer. You can cut it shorter but what you cut off is no longer usable unless you're a soldering wizard. The light emitted comes out 360 degrees from the cord and is consistent along the entire length. Shortening theoretically could cause it to be slightly brighter but I haven't tested this. The luminescent properties will diminish over time, letting this work at peak performance for maybe a year. This is due to exposure to oxygen. It is protected by a plastic sheath to slow this effect but this doesn't stop it entirely. If you cut it make sure to move the end cap from what you cut to the end of what you keep, maybe even glue it if you are sure you wont need to move the cap again. If you're looking for something similar that can cast ambient or usable light go with cob LED strips. The "cob" is a layer of translucent material designed to spread the light of the individual LEDs and provides a similar effect but can be MUCH brighter and wont deteriorate over time in the same way. As for the noise the portable power box makes on the EL lighting, this is normal. The unit is converting the low DC voltage of two batteries (3v) to AC voltage around 100v. I have not tested these units, this is just some info I found about average AC voltage for EL Lights. The noise is normal, really nothing to worry about, and these units don't make enough noise to be noticed unless you're in a quiet environment. For instance the road noise of an average car would easily mask the sound. Can't think of much else, hope this helps.

We bought these string lights for a trunk or treat event and a couple of the colors kept shorting out

This worked great, long enough cord to thread through RaveRunner pack - looked bright and nice (I liked the slow flashing setting, friend liked the fast flashing setting) - was pretty quite (you could hear soft buzzing if very quiet and close to ear), same AA batteries lasted 3 days of EDC Vegas (all night all 3 nights), second set of AA batteries lasted last day and 2 other events, and still working.

Out of this world cool! I'm not sure how electroluminescent wire works, but however it works, it sure is impressive. The only limit with these as to usage is your imagination. Need to illuminate the inside of your headboard? Model a neon sign for a model railroad layout? Decoration for a birthday party? However you use them, they're sure to amaze. With all of these positive attributes, are there any downsides? Some of them do make a slight buzzing noise during operation, but it's not too bad.

My order arrived well-packaged, neat, and clean. The battery packs feel tight and the batteries don't wobble around. The button that moves through the functions produces a click to let you know you have changed the function. The wires seem to be of high quality. They are brighter than I expected them to be. Also, these lights are very quiet in my opinion. I plan to use these in a low light application. They have exceeded my expectations so far.

I had low expectations given the price but if you bump the battery case at all the lights shut off. Which means when I zip tie this thing to my bike it will shut off constantly while riding. Pretty useless for my use case. And I can hear them whine, but tolerably.

５個とも問題なく綺麗に点灯しました。電池ボックスとEL線は分離可能ですから、仮にどちらかが壊れても使い回しが可能です。ただ、暗いところで見るものですから、照明下だと昼行灯。LEDのようにチカチカと光り輝くものではありません。また、商品説明には４つのモードとありますが、消灯をモードに入れるのはいかがなものかと。中国からの発送ですが、私の場合は到着予定通りに届きました。

I used it to make a light box for my boyfriend. It’s nice and was easy to bend around to create the drawing. It’s a bit thin, so it’s not that bright but the price was good so I didn’t expect it to be really thick. It came with 5 colours (green, pink, white, blue, red) they are battery powered and have 3 options when you turn it on. You just need to keep pressing to change the light options or to turn it off. It takes 2x AA batteries. It was pretty long. I only used the pink and green on this project, but I will definitely make something else with the rest of the colours.

Cheap but functional .enough for photogtaphy

When I purchased these I didn't realise just how thin the cables were. I've powered them up and the brightness is very dull. even in pitch black room, they are not very impressive at all. Live and learn.

Lights up really well. Can see very well in the dark. Used it to create a cosplay outfit. Worked good
