I have an extensive sae/metric socket set. what makes this socket special?

I also have a large socket collection but was not able to remove the Chevy truck air conditioning without this cheap socket. When you compare this one to my 16MM the flats are longer and the corners are more rounded on this cheap one. I have put this socket in my drawer in the back corner as I believe it will only work for a few times and does not fit a fastener correctly. I do not understand why they did not just make these air con fittings use standard or metric tooling.

Is this socket required? NO! This socket is required only if the valve is located in an area that restricts use of standard adjustable wrenches.

This socket is required if you want to remove the high side AC service port valve correctly and not be a cheese d i c k. Using an adjustable wrench is a good way to strip/round the octagon shaped fastener. Oh and octagon means 8 sided (I assume anyone who would suggest using an adjustable wrench didn’t finish grade school.) if you damage the AC service port there’s a good chance your AC gauge fitting will not attach properly to the fitting.
