Then dead algae clumps, so kill the algae then filter the clumps. If you uv after filter then the dead algae clumps return to pond. It works great. *by W***X on 4 July 2023* Update Developed a leak around the top where the lid screws on. It was close to the seam down the tank. Others have had similar issues. I clean the tank then put a flashlight inside and pointed the beam around the lid so I couls see the little holesl.. Then I used my secret weapon for leaks and repairs. JB WELD. It is amazing stuff. Even patched a leak on copper once that has yet to fail. So spread a nice bead along the rim before the threads and verified no light shining through. Then I put some on the inside in the same area to add more reinforcement. Let it dry a few days. Hooked it back up.. No more leak. I will let you know if it does not hold, but I am sure it will. JB WELD rules.! Been using this for about a year. It works great. Mine is outside of the pond for ease of cleaning. I have something hiding it. On the intake and output I used Teflon tape on the threads then screwed the inside connector so no drip . I was generous with the tape especially up where it meets the pump filter housing. I recommend this filter. Be careful feeding the tube through the two inside filters. A few times I scrap a little skin on the inside lip of the pump. The inside lip at the top is scrap.
