I am trying to find something to put on the steel work shelves at each end of my bbq grill as they get so hot from the sun to touch. might this work?

It will turn steel black. It sounds to me like your expectation is that this paint will reduce temperatures or something? That is not the case. It is simply paint that can withstand high temperatures.

Can this be used to spray a gun barrel that gets too hot?

I would say probably, I do not know how well it will adhere.

Très belle peinture

Très belle peinture, la couleur est un noir vif et très luisant. J'ai peinturer une tête de moteur de moto avec, je verrai si le temps et la chaleur ont raison de cette peinture, mais pour le moment, c'est très beau.

Doesn't seem like any silicone coating I've ever encountered.

I thought after baking the product (as per instructions) at 400°F it would miraculously change in texture/feel from paint to silicone. However, it doesn't have the least bit rubbery texture. It has a very chalky matte finish no matter what you do to it.
