The air vents are on top next to the game card slot. This stand does not block the air vents at all. **Q: What material is it made??** A: I believe it is steel and not plastic. Very heavy duty and sturdy. I set my iPhone 7plus on it and iPad. I got one for 3 of my family for Christmas and they each have called to tell me they love it.
