Our Holographic Diffraction Gratings are highly efficient embossed Holographic Optical Elements (H.O.E.). Diffraction Gratings are used for the direct viewing and analysis of spectra from different gas tubes and other light sources. The quality of the spectrum produced from our gratings is the brightest possible with a minimum of distracting visual noise. Our gratings are the principal component in a spectroscope and are used for experiments pertaining to the study of light and color. Project a spectrum using an overhead projector or 35mm slide projector for spectrum demonstration purposes. Use in conjunction with colored film gels for additive and subtractive color demonstrations. 2" X 2". IMPORTANT: Minimum order for this item is 50 pieces at .40 each. To receive the quantity discounts advertised, you must add the quantity you're ordering to the quantity box on the order page. ## Features - Makes the study of light and color fun and unforgettable - Features highly efficient embossed Holographic Optical Elements - Used for the direct viewing and analysis of spectra from different gas tubes and other light sources - Spectrum produced from our gratings is the brightest possible with a minimum of distracting visual noise - Great for overhead projector or 35mm slide projectors ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B00K6K3MCW | | Best Sellers Rank | #109,766 in Electronics (See Top 100 in Electronics) #86 in Lab Microscope Accessories | | Manufacturer | Rainbow Symphony | | Manufacturer Reference | 01603-25 | | Product Dimensions | 5.08 x 5.08 x 0.33 cm; 18 g | ## Images ![Rainbow Symphony Diffraction Grating Slides - Linear 1000 Line/Millimeters 25 Pack 01603-25 25 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71YEaN0HL+L.jpg) ![Rainbow Symphony Diffraction Grating Slides - Linear 1000 Line/Millimeters 25 Pack 01603-25 25 - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51pqHYobxfL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Will it chop frozen grapes?** A: I just tried. This is ineffective against frozen grapes. **Q: What is the difference between the various options?** A: Basically the line spacing. We offer 500 ln/mm, 1000 ln/mm and cross axis 13,500 line/ in. The 1000 ln/mm spreads the spectrum the most. **Q: Your scale is backwards. Red is the longer wavelength.** A: I think they meant the scale to be applied to the rainbow colors of the plastic part itself (just as a side reference relating color and wavelength), since the positions of colors on the grating depends on angles etc., they aren't tied to a specific position on the grating anyway. **Q: Could anybody provide me more technical information or a datasheet? For example, the manufacturing method or the grooves' angle. Thank you in advance** A: Sorry, just the line spacing. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing science for the money *by on Reviewed in the United Arab Emirates 7 January 2023* Amazing science for the money ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ See the spectrum of a light source (Is it halogen, fluorescent, metal halide?) without an expensive meter. *by on Reviewed in the United States 3 October 2015* These are great for understanding how lighting works. If you look at an incandescent light bulb through the slide and a little askance, you see a stretched out version of the light that looks like a rainbow. But if you look at a fluorescent source, you instead see multiple copies of the fixture in discrete colors (shades of red, green and blue) that reveal that the light comes from phosphors that emit these colors. Even if these lights claim to be "full spectrum", the actual spectrum is a discrete sampling of frequencies which together let us see as if the full spectrum were present. Various industrial lights, such as metal halide parking lot lights, have unique and identifiable spectrums. If you want to tell one type of light from another, these slide are infinitely more portable and cheaper than $5000 electronic meters! That said, people don't immediately get the knack of looking askance at a light through a slide. A fancy meter will work better for customer presentations. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun little things to give out to people. *by on Reviewed in the United States 27 September 2025* These diffraction gratings are amazing little things. There are 1000 lines per millimeter, causing light to be separated into the various components, like a prism would do. They're great gifts for curious minds. I give them out to people at the checkstand often, just because. The irony is that if you buy a pack of 20, it only costs around ten bucks, where if you only buy a pack of ten, it costs 12 bucks. Very strange indeed. ## Frequently Bought Together - Rainbow Symphony Diffraction Grating Slides, Linear, 1000 Line/Millimeters, Made in USA, Package of 25 - 3pc Equilateral CrystalPrisms Set -1",2" & 4" Lengths Crystal Triangular Prism Optical Prisms Glass Physics Teaching Refracted Light Spectrum Rainbow Maker Photography Props - Physics Optical Experiment Set Multifunction Reflector Refraction Triangular Prism Convex Lens Concave Mirror Dial Linear Light Source Teaching Demonstration Equipment for Teacher Student Education --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.sa/products/256048778-rainbow-symphony-diffraction-grating-slides-linear-1000-line-millimeters-25](https://www.desertcart.com.sa/products/256048778-rainbow-symphony-diffraction-grating-slides-linear-1000-line-millimeters-25) --- *Product available on Desertcart Saudi Arabia* *Store origin: SA* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
