I used it on a batch of sugar cookies and wanted a simple, smooth finish rather than doing a lot of detailed piping.I thinned the royal icing with just a little water, dipped the tops of my cookies directly into the icing and then let the excess drip off. It worked beautifully! The icing went on smoothly, took the food coloring well and gave me exactly the soft, pretty finish I was hoping for.This saved me the extra step of making royal icing from scratch, and I really liked being able to adjust the consistency myself depending on what I was doing.
