There's a second benefit towards wearing chaps, if you fall, the additional material readily absorbs more impact from the fall. So I feel like a clown while wearing these, when falling over twigs and logs! 6) Unlike a lot of products these days, Husqvarna engineered and designed these chaps really well, with the proper materials and within an affordable price range. TIP: Size, I would say the 36-38 inch size is similar to anybody within the medium size range. I'm usually a medium in both shirts/pants, and would say this size of chaps provides an exceptional area of safety coverage. TIP: When tripping/falling while wearing chaps, probably best just to roll with the fall, like a clown does rather than fighting the fall and possibly twist or breaking something. Review: I read a review here from a fellow a bit bigger than me -- I'm 6' 1", 250 lbs. -- saying they fit him well, but I was still worried they'd be too small. I needn't have been; they fit me perfectly. There's even room to adjust them larger. Of course, they can also be adjusted to fit a much smaller person. Cant hurt ??? **Q: Would they be too hot in the Texas heat for just trimming? Thought it best to have for both trimming and chainsaw use? Any advice?** A: I am in Oregon and just trimmed with them. They are hotter than just wearing jeans but I figure it is safer hot than having to get a leg sewed up. I do my trimming in the fall when it is not as hot as summer but your heat is a lot higher in Texas. Safety does have its price. **Q: Hi i am w. 36 and l. 36. on my levis, arΓ© these ok for me? thank you.** A: Unless you don them incorrectly (pulled down to the hips), these will absolutely NOT provide adequate coverage for someone with a 36" inseam. These chaps are only 36" total length, from top of waist to bottom of leg...returned mine for the larger size (41" overall length). **Q: will these work with an electric chainsaw** A: NO!!!! These are for gas saws only!!!! These chaps have long dense fibers inside which when cut by a fast running chainsaw chain will get pulled quickly into the clutch area and stop the chain from spinning by jamming it up. This works because even though the saw might still be running the chain is jammed up so the clutch slips and does not force the chain to continue to move.
