It's lighter than the regular lead-acid battery. Also smaller but comes supplied with some self-adhesive foam pads to bring it up to the same height as the original battery. With some custom work, I could probably use the free space for storing some small spares/tools. More expensive than the lead battery, but I like it for the decreased size/weight. I also hope that it lasts longer than the typical lead battery which seems to die if anybody looks at it funny. Update: (2019/6/27) a couple of years later and I'm loving it. Maintains a charge over a long period of time, like at least 8 months (enough to flatten a lead-acid batter, sometimes permanently), cranks fast.
