I would say they are not acid resistant , nor acid triggering for me personally , and yes designed to be filled others vitamin herb or mineral supplant and swallowed. I use them with great success! The gelatin capluse dissolves fairy fast in liquid for nearly immediate assimilation of its contents .

Yes they definitely can. For drop amounts you could just get the single 0 capsule. The 000 are larger and hold about gram of powdered herbs. But also can be used with oils. I'm not sure how long they can be stored with liquid in them as they are a veggi cap. But a few doses at a time kept in the fridge should last ok. Hope that helps.

I use these for mct oil. I would like to prefill these for a trip. Would they hold up for a few days?

Our vegan capsules would be better suited for holding MCT oil.

Can you use these to double encapsulate an existing capsule? Can you use them by hand this way or do you need a machine?

Yes, you could put another smaller capsule in one of these capsules. I fill them by hand. I use a tool which is a small spatula. google capsule filler tool and you will find something that works, or you can make a tool out of a straw; just trim the end to make a suitable surface.
