**Q: What’s the difference between the new 5.3 version and the 5.2?**
A: I had an earlier version and I would say the major difference is the 5.3 version is made of sturdier material, less brittle plastic. Also the clips that hold it in place seem to be more firmly attached. 
The handle on this version can be attached to either side as well. I think that is to accommodate e-bikes, where the chain is run in the opposite direction for cleaning compared to road bikes.

**Q: Excuse the newbie question here.. what changes in performance have you seen after cleaning your chain with this tool?**
A: Clean chain is key to shifting performance (cleaner shifts & less dropped chains). Maybe even more important, dirty chains wear down chain rings & cassettes much faster. This tool is great. Get a good degreaser too, and you’ll be in good shape.

**Q: How do you open the bicycle chain cleaner**
A: You pop open the silver metal clips on either end of it.   Once the clips are open the whole top of it can be opened.

**Q: How do I clean Chain Scrubber itself after it collected all the grease dirt fell from the chain inside the cleaner??**
A: I would probably use a degreaser to remove the buildup and wipe any remainder out with a cloth or paper towel.
