Andalou Naturals Age Defying Ultra Sheer Daily Defense (2.7 oz)

Not greasy and light weight. I love having this moisturizer as my go to, everyday moisturizer that I can apply quickly and easily. It has a light sunscreen, like SPF 18 which I prefer to the heavier protection of SPF 30. Works well under a light face powder application which is all I use on my face these days. Smells good and spreads easily.

I didn't start wearing sunscreen until last year. I'm 49. Yeah, that was a bit of a problem, but better late than never. So going into it, I just figured I would pick one up at the drug store and it would be fine. No big deal. Wrong. HUGE deal. I had no idea about white casts, or how drying they could be, and then dealing with wrinkles and sun damage, and wearing makeup over it. OMG, I wanted to scream after the 10th tube of failed sunscreen. Little did I know there would SO MANY MORE failed tubes in my future. This was a desperation buy. I had typed "moisturizing facial sunscreen" into the search bar on here and was just reading description after description. I literally said to myself when ordering it, "Good Lord, just try it. What's one more and this one is only $7." I also ordered 2 other brands at the same time. A really spendy one and a drugstore brand. Those have gone into the fail drawer. I'm now set for sunscreen until the year 2025, I'm sure.....for the rest of my body anyway. This one I've put on my Amazon subscription list cause I don't want to ever run out. It is SOOO freakin' moisturizing. It feels like it's just part of my morning skin care. I absolutely love the scent. It's a fresh citrus scent that isn't overly heavy and it's isn't noticeable for long, but holy heck I love it! It also doesn't irritate my eyes, which is huge bonus and that was something I just thought every sunscreen did and I was just going to have to learn to live with it. No white cast. NOT drying. I seriously haven't found one thing I don't like about this sunscreen. Apparently when I first bought it, it was during a price drop or something, because it's now almost $12 a tube, but even at that it's a damn bargain. I'd pay way more for this little sucker and not even think twice. I've since checked out their other products because all the bonus "skin love"(peptides, anti-oxidants, plant stem cells, and OMG.....RESVERITROL, people!!!!) that came along in this sunscreen made me curious about their other products. Those are definitely worth checking out if you find you enjoy this one.

I've always been a fan of Andalou products and have always used this for added SPF protection on my face. It is lightweight and smells pleasant. It doesn't weigh your skin down and I like that it has plant-based and organic ingredients that is good for your skin. It gets absorb by the skin pretty nicely and I usually use it as a base for my make-up without creating a cakey feel afterwards. I only not use it in the Summer but anytime it's sunny out even during the Winter. It's also great at moisturizing my face so there's that added benefit. However, if you already have sun spots, this will not lighten it or make it go away, it will at the very least protect your face from getting more, and protect the ones your already have from getting darker from sun exposure.

I chose Andalou Naturals because I wanted a high-quality product that didn't come with a premium price tag. Moisturizing Quality: I have very dry skin, so I’m the ultimate test for hydration. This lotion provides impressive, long-lasting moisture; I can definitely tell it's working because my skin doesn't feel tight or parched halfway through the day. Sun Protection & Scent: The broad-spectrum SPF 18 is perfect for my daily routine, like commuting or running quick errands. A huge plus is that it applies smoothly with zero white cast, which is usually a struggle with SPF products. The scent is lovely—a fresh, light citrus/orange fragrance that feels refreshing without being overpowering. Weight & Oiliness: The reason I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is the "ultra-sheer" claim. While it isn't greasy, I can definitely feel the SPF sitting on my skin. It feels a bit heavier than a truly sheer moisturizer, so it doesn't disappear completely upon application. Overall, it's a fantastic, affordable option for dry skin if you don't mind feeling a little extra "shielded" by your daily sunscreen.

Really nice smell and spreads really nice with comforting feel. I feel moisturized but not greasy when applied. I have bought this many times.

I absolutely love the Andalou ultra sheer daily defense! I have pale, sensitive skin so I am VERY particular as to what I use on my face. It absorbs well, isn't too thick or too thin, while still moisturizing well. Bonus points that it has the SPF 18 added in. It also has a very light scent, almost fruity (not chemically or a sickly sweet scent). It doesn't make me break out. I use it twice a day, in morning and evening after washing my face. I have tried many, many products over the years and this one stands out. Also it it affordable, which is also very important. I used to be able to find it in the grocery stores and I can't anymore, but thankfully can still find it here on Amazon. I have used it for years and will continue to use it for the foreseeable future.

I've been using natural products from various for about 6 years to avoid the chemicals, but also because I saw some actual results when compared to expensive, chemical-laden products that never offered the long-term results they claimed. At 36, it's been nothing but tinted moisturizer these days and some blush, eyeliner, etc. For the last three years, I'd been strictly using (and still mainly use) Eminence Organics because it took years off my face, to the point others noticed. I've also been using Andalou body butter (kukui?) for a few years because it was the only thing to tackle my dry skin issues and it's the perfect consistency for me. A few months ago, I decided to save a few bucks and mix things up by trying Andalou's tumeric serum and eventually this lotion. I love both. I love this SPF because it doesn't make my light-brown skin look chalky, even on camera or direct sunlight, nor does it cause irritation like most SPFs seem to do lately. I do wish it had more SPF, but I admit the further improvement to my skin overshadows that and it encourages me to put it on regularly. Above all, it doesn't make me breakout. Woot! It's also great smelling and moisturizing without non-greasy.

Has a nice subtle fragrance and feels very nice on the skin. Worked really well on my very dry skin and on my husband’s normal skin. We ultimately ended up not repurchasing it as we want a bit more spf.

I really like this product. A little goes a long way, it gets absorbed really quickly, and isn't greasy at all. I haven't used it much in the sun yet though I can't say how protective it is from UV rays. I can easily apply foundation on top of it as well. Other than the fact that it arrived crushed (the box), I'm quite pleased. I ordered is specifically because I wanted to purchase a product that was vegan and cruelty free.

Ottima crema, da usare tutto l'anno, da sola o come base trucco. Perfetta per le pelli secche, necessarie di nutrimento e sensibili, grazie anche al fattore di protezione. Assorbe con facilità, non unge ed ha un profumo gradevole e delicato.

The product feels light and smells great. It moisturizes well though I would appreciate something with higher spf, but it works fine as is. What more is the lack of many harsh and potentially toxic or carcinogenic chemicals that are found in other similar products. My main objection would be the way it seems to advertise plant stem cells as a game-breaking formula. While plant based products can work wonders for the skin and health, we aren't plants and stem cells won't be doing anything for us.
