This chai tea mix is very good. I bought it from the vendor but found that Amazon carries it as well. The price is the same. But the delivery is faster if you order it through Amazon. There is more variety that you can buy through Harney & Sons web site but delivery is a lot slower. I purchased "If You Care" tea bags and I place this chai tea mix into the tea bag and steep it. I used to use a filter cup but it's so darn annoying to clean out the tea leaves. Harney & Sons has a good color and the taste is great. Highly recommend this tea.

This Chai is much closer to regular black tea than I'm used to. The black tea is strong, so I used it as I normally do regular black tea. But it just wasn't strong in spice flavors. I want to be smashed in the face with cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, really any of the various spices that show up in the different chai varieties. There just wasn't much 'umph.'

I’ve been drinking tea for more than 40 years and had a most unfortunate experience with this Harney & Sons Chai Black loose leaf tea Lot#26099. I filed a report with our State’s Poison Control hotline as well with Harney & Sons (H&S) directly due to the 1st half cup of tea caused an onset of anaphylaxis (*throat tightening) as well as the feeling of not being able to intake enough oxygen. Plus anxiousness big time. Super weird feeling overall. This form of an allergic reaction has never happened to me prior, with any food or beverage. Thank goodness I was able to calm myself down and push thru, because who wants an ER bill unless such is absolutely necessary. The H&S corporate customer service lady said they would gift card me $30 for use in their online web store, yet that gift card never arrived my inbox. She was super nice and empathetic to speak with via emails. I asked H&S if they wanted the product shipped back, at my expense if need be, to have it tested by a certified Lab for poisons, molds (mycotoxins) etcetera? They declined. They also said my case was the only case to date relating to such experience. They also said that cinnamon can cause these symptoms, yet what I located through multiple AI platform search results was that ‘cardamom’ has a track record of causing these types of anaphylaxis issues. It’s wild to me that I have had tons of Chai tea in my 50+ years of life and again never experienced these negative side effects. I also find it interesting that a multi million dollar brand would not desire to at least ‘test’ this Lot’s dose amounts of what they advertise is with in their Chai tea. Let’s hope no one gets seriously hurt from what ever is truly with in this Chai’s Lot#. Their Apple Cinnamon loose leaf version is delicious and has caused zero issues with me.

Not sure how it compares to other teas but this makes a great chai concentrate. I use 1/3cup with 2liters water & add a couple tablespoons of chai spices. Simmer for 15min & strain into ball jars. When I use the concentrate I heat a couple ounces of concentrate and add steamed milk with a little maple syrup & cinnamon.
