Nintendo NES Controller

Besides the age; this thing works amazing! I bought mine from a seller who had cleaned it, so the inside and out is presentable. The buttons are sooooo smooth. Tried it on Mario and you can feel how perfect this controller is. Yes there was some minor scuffing, and some scratches by the plug, but for the age and wear and tear that previous owners might have had for this.... i LOVE it! Thank you for the wonderful cleaning, beautiful controller, and super duper shipping speed! 5/5 for both seller and controller!! Everyone, please read the descriptions of EACH sellers item. No two are the same. And a price doesnt guarantee a official Nintendo controller. It took me a hour to decide on which price/seller and what condition i really wanted. Please do some digging on the condition of what your about to buy.

Okay in regards to the controller it self let me say that its awesome to be able to have this back again. Also its great to be able to hook up to my lap top and play tecmo super bowl again (even if the computer cheats and Lorenzo White can break a 100 yard td run past an excellent derrick thomas just because its the afc championship.) The only issue i had was that the controller was rated in excellent condition and when I got it the cord had a slice in it. I dont care though because who knows if it was shipped this way or if I did it, the important thing is the controller worked great, i can seal up a slice with electrical tape, and I can play me some nintendo again.

Fantastic, authentic, original, high quality controller (with official Nintendo logo) in very good condition. Plays games better than I remembered! CAUTION: If you want an authentic controller, don't just click and buy this product. You need to look at the available used listed items and check for an authentic quality controller from one of the specific sellers. Be warned also, each seller may have different return policies. I selected a used controller in collectible quality condition that had pictures of the actual item posted by the seller and said they were authentic original controllers. It cost me about $6.50 and I got exactly what I wanted.

While they'll tell you they're the originals and un-altered, they're really not. While "some" of the parts are original, the buttons and internal guts are changed. This controller has easily been gutted and replaced with cheaper buttons, not found on the original NES controllers from my days of gaming. It works, don't get me wrong. It'll do in a pinch, but these certainly don't carry the Nintendo Seal of Approval on them... Well, the case might, but don't be fooled.

To be clear, this review is NOT an indictment on the seller. They did exactly what I asked and shipped the product on time and as described. These “authentic” replicas are the CHEAPEST thing I have ever seen. DO NOT BUY THEM! If given the choice to waste your money or not play the system, take the boredom. As some background I bought two new controllers. Right out of the box I noticed they weight about 1oz. I thought, “Hmm, well technology has advanced, blah, blah, blah”. Both of them immediately broke. To be fair ever really worked to begin with. Push left, go down. Push up, go left. It was a mess. The low point was when I was playing Super Tecmo bowl. The controller began to falter. First, my player would randomly go in the wrong direction (as mentioned above), then buttons stopped working and I couldn’t call ½ the plays. Finally, due to what I can only call mechanical difficulties, I chose to punt on 1st and goal at my opponents 8 yard line with 20 seconds left and trailing by 3 points. OK, I chalk it up to a bad batch so as any intelligent person would do, I bought another Tomee “knockoff”. Right out of the box, same issues. 3 controllers, all beyond cheap. I finally ponied up and bought some used classic controls.

It's a 5 star ratting guys because its hands down one of the best controllers ever made. The seller sent me an original working NES controller and boy am I loving it. The controller is used and shows some wear, scared it wouldn't work but 100% works with my NES. Anyone looking to buy some NES controllers this seller sells the legit Nintendo controllers must buy folks.

I have bought two of these with the standard (new) buy button, and both cases were eerily similar. I ordered this, expecting to get an original NES controller or at least a tolerable 3rd party controller. The NES knock-off controller that comes in the box looks fine at first glance. Pretty much indistinguishable from the real thing, visually, except a QC sticker on the back and the red-lettered Nintendo above the two face buttons is gone. However, when you pick up the controller, you start seeing the problem. The first thing you'll notice is that the paddle is heinously lightweight. It's paper-light. If you put this down with any tension in the wire, or if you accidentally touch the wire, the controller will shoot like a rocket towards the console / floor. And you will be accidentally hitting the wire often, because the wire is several feet shorter than the original controller. That means you'll have to get creative on where you place it - no stashing it next to the TV, it's gonna have to stay near the console. And you are, too, while you're playing. Now I can tolerate how it handles out of play just fine if it plays well. But this is where the generic is just shameful. The original NES controller had a very reasonable roll to the control pad, and some respectable size tolerances on the face buttons. The control pad, for starters, is way too sensitive on the diagonals. You cannot play Contra with this controller, because you will accidentally get up from the prone position with bullets at standing-chest-level on a regular basis. And it's just flat out uncomfortable anyways, being a very hard plastic that has a very sudden "give" to it, as opposed to the original, which was more gradual about the downpress motion. The start and select buttons are plastic instead of that rubberlike material, which makes them clicky and feel far less pleasant than the originals (I wonder if it'd be nice to have all the face buttons be rubber...). The red face buttons are loosely moulded and wobble quite fiercely, but besides the obnoxious rattling won't present any gameplay issues. It's a terrible controller, only good if you need to have a quick Nintendo fix on a left-or-right only game and you just can't stand the thought of buying used. Otherwise, pass on it.

Just for the record I love my purchase of this controller even though it's used it's condition is flawless and it is the authentic brand of Nintendo model # NES-004 I bought this because I wanted to experience the real thing of game playing for my JNes emulator. Also to go with the adapter to plug in. And I love it so far and this is the way gaming experience should be. Thanks J&W Games :)

My original controllers were pausing the games randomly. Ordered one from here and it works perfectly. Now I need a second one to play Contra with my son.

Ces manettes ne sont pas compatibles avec ma console Nintendo NES. Et jen 'ai eu aucun moyen de le savoir avant. Avis aux prochains acheteurs : ma console NES est française et ne reçoit pas ces manettes. Je suis donc bon pour en racheter deux autres!!

I wasnt sure if I was going to receive an half broken 30 years old controller or a fake one. Well I was totally wrong! I received as promised an original NES controller and now I can play with my old nintendo!! This is pure joy!! Do not hesitate a second betwen a cheap replica and the real thing, Nintendo is Nintendo. I plugged my console I hadnt play with for over 15 years and it worked immediatly without even blowing on the cardridge It's crazy !!
