For hair
I have tried everything for hair. To grow in length and thickness. I was taking another brand called toco9 at 5x the cost. I didn't get it for hair at first but noticed less shedding in the shower and then zits all over my head. It took me a while to realize it was hair follicles regenerating. Once I got my hair to a healthy place I found these and have been using. It is a good product and has kept my hair in a growth phase. My hair has been fuller, longer, has great shine. I had giving up on thinking a supplement would help my hair. Hah I'm not even sure why my bf got me the toco originally but love that without even trying finally found something that helps with hair growth. Update I quit purchasing these when the jumped from $11 a bottle up to $25 they didn't get may hair to a growth phase only helped maintain. Lame someone got greedy...booo

Contains 57mg of tocotrienols (alpha, beta, gamma, and delta) plus 15mg(22IU){73%DV} of alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E) per softgel
Jarrow Formulas "Toco-Sorb tocomin SupraBio" palm tocotrienol-tocopherol complex has been clinically proven to be more absorbable and more biologically active than other tocotrienol formulations. Serving size 1 softgel, 60 softgels per bottle, take 1 softgel 1 or 2 times per day with a meal. Tocotrienols are 40 to 60 times more effective as antioxidants than alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E), which is still the only tocopherol/tocotrienol used in all multi-vitamin pills. Recently, Japanese researchers discovered that swallowing more than a minimal amount of any tocopherol, especially alpha-tocopherol, will block tocotrienols from (1)being absorbed into the human body, (2)lowering cholesterol, preventing heart disease, and preventing stroke, (3)killing existing cancer cells and preventing cancer, (4)protecting against brain cell damage, and (5)preventing and treating diabetes. Delta-tocotrienol appears to be the most beneficial of the 4 tocotrienols. Alpha-tocopherol appears to increase bad cholesterol levels with or without the presence of tocotrienols. Alpha-tocopherol also causes tocotrienols to break down into useless chemicals. Wikipedia says, "While it was initially hoped that vitamin E supplementation would have a positive effect on health, research has not supported these conclusions. Vitamin E does not decrease mortality in adults, even at large doses, and may slightly increase it. It does not improve blood sugar control in...people with diabetes...or decrease the risk of stroke. Daily supplementation of vitamin E does not decrease the risk of prostate cancer and may increase it. Studies on its role in age related macular degeneration are ongoing as...it may increase the risk. A Japanese study in 2012 found that vitamin E may contribute to osteoporosis." The 3 foods richest in tocotrienols - rice bran, palm oil, and annatto seeds - do not contain enough tocotrienols to make it practical to try to get enough tocotrienols from foods. Tocotrienol softgels made from rice bran have a tocotrienol to tocopherol ratio of 1 to 1. Tocotrienol softgels made from palm oil have a tocotrienol to tocopherol ratio of 3 to 1. Tocotrienol softgels made from annatto seeds have a tocotrienol to tocopherol ratio of 999 to 1. In addition to tocotrienols, the other 13 superstar antioxidants that really work are: (1)astaxanthin softgels, (2)lutein softgels, (3)alpha-lipoic acid capsules, (4)100% pure ascorbic acid powder or tablets, (5)benfotiamine capsules, (6)ginsenosides in Korean red ginseng capsules, (7)phospholipid-based long-chain omega-3 fatty acids in high-phospholipid krill oil softgels, (8)organosulfur compounds in raw onions, raw green onions, and raw garlic, (9)glucosinolates/isothiocyanates in raw cabbage, raw kale, raw broccoli, raw cauliflower, raw red radishes, and raw white turnips, (10)polyphenols/bioflavonoids in green tea, white tea, rooibos tea, honeybush tea, and olive leaf tea, (11)p-coumaric acid in raw tomatoes, canned salt-free tomatoes, and wheat bran, (12)lentinan in raw shiitake mushrooms, and (13)isoflavones in natto, edamame, soy sprouts, tofu, tofurkey, soy burgers, soy dogs, soy salami, soy bacon, soy milk, soy cheese, soy ice cream, soynut butter, dried soynuts, canned soybeans, and soy flour. Resveratrol (red grapes, red wine, peanuts, peanut butter), curcumin (turmeric, curry), anthocyanidins (açaí, berries, other purple fruits and vegs), and ellagic acid (pomegranates) are antioxidants that usually must be swallowed together with cancer-causing tannins. Fucoidan (wakame, kombu, hijiki, limu moui) might very likely contain cancer-causing nitrosamines and toxic cadmium (both from sea salt). Citrus polyphenols/bioflavonoids are inferior compared to other polyphenols/bioflavonoids. Lignans (ground flax meal) are very good for our health and vastly superior to most other phytoestrogens but slightly inferior to just 1 other phytoestrogen - soy isoflavones (genistein, daidzein, glycitein). Soy isoflavones increase our bone density and reduce our risk of bone fractures while all other phytoestrogens do not.

Tocotrienols are thought to unclog arteries. Works for me
I have been taking this product for nearly 20 years. Jarrow Toco-Sorb is a Vitamin E complex meaning it contains several different types of Vitamin E. Eight types of Vitamin E exist. Four Tocopherols and four Tocotrienols. Alpha Tocopherol is the common type in most multivitamins. Tocotrienols are thought to be able to unclog your arteries. There have been some studies reported in science journals done a number of years ago where they set up two groups of mature men. One group was a control, the other was given a Tocotreinol product. They measured the amount of clogging in the Carotid artery ( the one on the side of the neck) using ultrasound, over a period of 1 to 2 years, and found that the clogging in the control group got worse over time while the group taking the Tocotreinols actually got better. Note that this was a small study but after reading it, I went out and bought the product. I believe the product works, or at least, works on me so I am taking ONE of these a few times per week. I had a stent installed in 2 of my coronary arteries about 6 years ago and well, so far so good. Note that one must think carefully about taking this product at the same time as any blood thinners as Vitamin E in general will tend to thin the blood. Or if going in for any procedure. There are some older books written by Wilfrid E. Shute et al, that discuss the benefits of Vitamin E for the Heart. The books can be seen on Amazon by searching for 'Vitamin E and Shute'. These books basically say that Vitamin E is good for the heart. Dr. Shute was a cardiologist. I also take Jarrow CarotenAll, which is a Vitamin A complex. It contains ingredients supposed to be good for the eyes and also the heart. Note I do not work for Jarrow or Amazon.

Toco-Sorb - Vitamin E + Tocotrienols
This vitamin E with Tocotrienols seems very good. I gave this 4 stars, because I did not like in the other ingredients, how it listed some castor oil. This product did increase my energy level. I would not recommend taking this at bedtime.

energy, cognition, osteoarthritis, minimal side effects.
Energy: I started taking this supplement because my blood work shows low levels of vitamin E. What I didn't expect, and which was an amazing surprise, is that I have much more energy, and my runs are strong. The only supplement that is better than this (much better), in terms of strength and energy, is astaxanthin. I don't tolerate astaxanthin at all, unfortunately. Cognition: I use Cambridge Brain Sciences to track my cognitive abilities and to link behavior to cognitive performance. EVNol SupraBio (Toco-sorb) increases scores across the board, though not as much as Astaxanthin. I take one pill every two or three days. Totally effective even at that low dose. I also noticed that I get a boost after taking breaks vs using chronically. Doesn't make sense to me, but there it is. I don't know why more people aren't talking about this. It's in the literature, too, which is such a headscratcher. The same is true for astaxanthin, lutein, and zeaxanthin. Do your brain a favor. Try these things. Osteoarthritis: Game changer, relieves pain. Again, even at low doses this is really effective. Price: There are an increasing number of brands that supply Evnol SupraBio: Jarrow, Life Extension, Dr. Best, TrueE, Swanson, Now Foods, Carlson, Healthy Origins, etc. Jarrow is competitively priced, only Healthy Origins is slightly less expensive ($0.20/50 mg Suprabio vs Jarrow $0.25/50 mg Suprabio). Jarrow's dose is highest though, (57 mg) vs most others (50 mg), so choice also depends on dose. side effects: I'm hugely sensitive gastrointestinally, everything gets me (like astaxanthin). This has been fine in the 2 years I've been using it. But, I recently took the contents of the gel caps, so not contained in a gel cap, but on a teaspoon, and that gave me significant stomach issues. Some things sneak up, so I for sure don't take it but once every 2 or 3 days.

Easy to swallow, important supplement
In the supplement industry, you'll notice that every supplement has to somehow be slightly different. Off the top of my head, magnesium threonate comes to mind, which is weirdly patented. Bang energy drinks have "super creatine". This is one of those few exceptions where I actually believe that this supplement is unique from other vitamin E supplements in a way that matters. I really hope that we have a good study on this supplement one day compared to placebo and compared to typical vitamin E supplements.

OSU Tocotrienols Stroke Research
I came across info on the internet that there has been research at Ohio State University that links Tocotrienols with controlling stroke damage and another site links it to stroke prevention. I am not a chemist or a doctor, but this topic has been researched and the info is out there on the internet for all to read. Dr. Chandan Sen lead the research at OSU. Strokes (3) run in my husband's family. We watch what we eat, exercise and take this. I plan on taking this myself. Do I plan on living to 100? Of course not, but I would like to make it past 75 without a stroke. I read reviews about the quality of this product at other sites, before buying it online at Amazon. I enjoyed the fast Amazon Prime shipping.
