Review: Still looks GREAT after 3 years - I used ProtectaClear on a brassy bathroom sink that gave me fits with its tendency to tarnish and stain. Cleaning it was living H__. Regular brass/copper/silver polishes wouldn't get it done. I'm ex-military, so I've had lots of practice. The only thing that would clean it up was applying a heavy-duty abrasive, which basically resurfaced it. My bathroom has two identical sinks. On one, I used Sink Wax; on the other, I used ProtectaClear. The wax was a lot better than nothing, but over time, it gave out, and that sink got new, ugly stains all over it. The wax might have worked if I had cleaned that sink and reapplied the wax every few months, but I have a life outside of sink cleaning. The picture shows the ProtectaClear sink after 3 years. It looks exactly like it did the day I applied ProtectaClear. I did go the extra mile on it. I followed the instructions to the letter. I did all the prep. I applied 3 coats. I was careful not to drop anything into the sink to avoid nicking or scratching. I kept a hand towel beside the sink. Every time I used the sink, I wiped it dry. That probably wouldn't be necessary in most cases, but my water is very hard and leaves spots on anything and everything when it dries. ProtectaClear repels water, so a half-second swipe with the towel was all it took. Maybe I didn't need to dry it, but I wasn't taking any chances. The smeared look of the sink surface is the result of having to clean it with abrasives. The ProtectaClear didn't cause that. I just spent two hours cleaning the other sink. (That's par for the course.) I'm about to apply ProtectaClear to it. I strongly recommend NOT buying metal sinks. If you get stuck with one, this is the best solution I've found.
Review: Seals metals and stops oxidation - I make coin rings and other coin-centric jewelry. And, if you’ve ever worn copper, you’re likely aware of the green residue around your copper adorned skin. This product is an excellent way to protect against corrosion and stops residue from getting on your skin. As a skin safe sealant, you’ll enjoy your copper jewelry for years and years. I usually apply two coats- waiting an hour between coats, and waiting a couple days to ensure full curing although the items can be handled after an hour of application. The sealant can be applied other materials needing a clear protective seal against fine scratches and leaching and to maintain its original shine/patina. Final coating is not brittle and has some flexibility. See the application types and directions on the can. Use in a well-ventilated area and read the safety information. PPE recommended.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I am looking to refinish a large vertical brass surface. What is the best product to use and what application method do you suggest?**
A: Prepare the brass and make it look like you want it to look. Once the surface is clean you will solvent wipe it and apply the recommended coats. I suggest calling the manufacturer and talking to them about what your brass is and where it resides. More information is needed before we can recommend which coating would be best for you...

**Q: I have a brand new SS range top - can it with stand the heat**
A: Yes. ProtectaClear will gas off at about 660 degrees F. You just want to make sure that your range top is real stainless steel and does not have a plastic coating on it. There are some appliances that have a plastic coating to make it look like brushed stainless steel. The ProtectaClear is a solvent based coating that should not be used on soft plastics. It works great on real stainless steel.

**Q: Can I use this on my refrigerator to keep sulfur from corroding the pipes?**
A: We would recommend using our Everbrite Coating to protect copper pipes from sulfur. Everbrite Coating will also stop tarnish as well as corrosion. If your refrigerator is stainless steel, then the ProtectaClear will also stop rust and corrosion on the stainless steel and will also stop fingerprints and smudges. Our customer service team is available to answer any specific questions about your project. Stacy @ Everbrite Coatings

**Q: I have a large copper kettle that i want to put outdoors. will protectaclear keep it from tarnishing outside?**
A: Everbrite is better for outdoor items. This is because there is a TON of extra UV protection in it as well and anti corrosives and anti oxidants. Make the kettle look like you want it to and coat it with a minimum of 2 coats of Everbrite and it will keep it bright and shiny for years.
