Is there a certain size or type?** A: Be careful ordering arrows from Amazon. I ordered some and took 3 months to get here. I used to buy one or two from Walmart. **Q: Does this bow actually shoot at 10 pounds, or do the arrows just drop in front of you?** A: That’s pretty low so I’d say not at 10 pounds. It comes set very nice and can bury an arrow at 10 and 15 yards with minimal effort. **Q: is this kid the Genesis pro bow** A: No. The description will say "Pro". This is just the regular bow. **Q: What other accessories/setup would I need to start using/enjoying this from the time of arrival? Backyard has space. We're brand new.** A: just a bow target. we used a bale of hay at first, but bought an actual Styrofoam type target block because they are easier to move and extract the bows from. lots of fun and we've had ages 6-72 using the same bow (including some pretty beefy manly men) the only issue some of the bigger guys have had was that they had to not fully extend their draw because the bow wasn't big enough - but they are over 6'2" and they still got great shots without a full extend. several people with injuries that cause bow hunting to hurt them have commented that it hurts them but only to the level of mild discomfort and they still enjoy it. the kids have had absolutely no trouble with it... typical warriors who adapt well without complaint.we bought extra arrows, but haven't even needed them yet (they are surprisingly hard to find in Bermuda grass though!) but we've been persistent about hunting them down even when it takes a while. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Bow Kit! *by A***R on March 9, 2026* This was a Birthday gift for my daughter who has taken to Archery! My wife and I also enjoyed shooting the bow. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect father/son bow to get started in archery *by R***2 on September 12, 2022* I'm 41 and my son is 9. We both have never shot a compound bow before. We bought this one after researching and seeing that it's supposedly good for an adult and child. I was not disappointed. Both my son and I can easily shoot it at 10-20 yards and shoot effectively. If he and I are shooting I keep it a little light. It's still able to accurately hit 20 yards. If I want to go further I tighten it up with the Allen key that came along with it. The goal is to practice for a year or two and eventually move to hunting. I'll most likely upgrade to a different bow but he can easily keep this one and grow with it. I really don't see any downside to this bow and what we wanted it for. It was our intro bow to learn how to shoot properly and its that 100%. Huge value for money. Having the arrows come with it is huge. The only thing that I would say is needed is a target to shoot at. We bought a foam cube at Walmart.
