H1305 Green

This is a beautiful drawing/drafting pencil that I use for sketching. It’s well made, very easy to use and comes with a built in sharpener at the top and one lead loaded and ready to use. Dispensing the lead is extremely easy w/little prongs that grabs the lead for the length you want and prevents it from falling out when doing so. Pencil glides smoothly and can control lighter or darker shades with a light hand or more pressure. Great for shading quick sketches. It comes in 4 lovely colors, red being my favorite:) and has a silver band where the pocket clip is attached w/ a little movable “window” that lets you see the hardness and size of lead you are using. As for comfort I would compare it to using a traditional #2 school pencil but with better balance. To be fair I have a mangled hand and wrist and wear a special brace. It’s easy to rest this pencil in my brace and can control drawing with the side of my index finger and tip of my thumb and the pad of my ring finger. This pencil is easy to control and my hand never gets tired after extended drawing. This really is a nice drawing/drafting pencil and has improved my drawings and is fun to use. It makes a very nice and affordable gift too.

A great balanced mechanical pencil. I own several of these pencils and they are fail proof and very durable.

This is not a mechanical pencil with lead advancement in increments by "knocking" the pencil; this is a gravity-fed clutch lead holder. If you release the clutch by depressing the end, the lead will simply fall out if you don't hold it close to your paper or over your hand. Likewise, when ready to put away, turn it upright, tip facing up, depress the end and the lead will slide back into the holder without having to push it back in or break the tip pushing it against your paper/table. Those who write a lot with these may not like that and prefer a mechanical pencil. Drawing or wood working where continual writing isn't what it's used for, may prefer this to knocking a mechanical. It appears to be a sturdy holder. The clutch is metal (shouldn't break or bend in a pocket or toolbox), the colored casing is plastic, but feels substantial, the knurled metal grip texture isn't too rough making fingertips sore with prolonged use, the clip is long enough to hold onto a shirt pocket or paper tablet and is also removable if it's in your way (drawing), the knurled band at the top end features a hardness indicator easily adjusted by rotating, and has a lead sharpener in the plunger cap. The cap isn't overly snug, so it may pull out if you grab it to remove the holder from a case or pocket (the one I received, anyway). Otherwise for the price, it's a decent lead holder that won't break the bank if lost. The hardness indicator offers 4H, 2H, H, F, HB, B, 2B (with room to write one more if needed....I use a white fine point Gelly Roll pen to do this.) It's lightweight, but still feels like something is in your hand unlike some fully plastic options. It's fairly evenly/center balanced. Lastly, for those of you who may have this holder in your hand in writing position for extended periods or for drawing, the corners are rounded where the faceted colored casing and the knurled metal grip meet.... saving your fingers from being "poked"; not all manufacturers do this as they should!

I use this to markup architectural drawings every day. Red lead is pretty fragile, so I purchased this pencil to improve the durability. The lead is still pretty easy to break, but it works much better than .09 lead. You'll need to purchase a special sharpener for this pencil. Big Rudy

I draw all the time and love 2mm lead holders. I wanted a red lead holder for my red lead work. It is great! Just know. There is no point sharpener in cP like other PA lead holders.

These are very nice lead holders, light enough to be easily held and heavy enough to do the work without feeling "plastic-y". Their "lead indicators" have four settings: 2H, HB, B, and 2B; these may be "dialed in" to indicate the lead present in the holder.

Decades ago, I purchased one of these from my local art store. I was a kid at the time, but a drawing enthusiast and a professional artist in the store saw me looking at pencils. They recommended I give this pencil a try because it's sturdy, and comfortable to hold. This style also allows you to sharpen it to a point finer than any mechanical pencil could over. I followed that professional's advice and was SO glad I did. It helped me improve drastically! Sadly, I lost that pencil in a move and have been missing it. The local art store closed, and I couldn't find this at any of the big-box craft stores in my town. When I found this on Amazon, I was thrilled! It's just as good as my original one, and feels like reconnecting with an old friend!

Somewhere back in the last century when I was first in university I had a 2mm clutch pencil that I used for a lot of writing and figuring. Then I got seduced by those 0.5mm leads that never seem to need pointing, but they also seem to break all the time. I'm a slow learner; after 40 years I went looking for my old clutch pencil and of course couldn't find it. Well...40 years ago we didn't have the internet, so I did some looking around for the state of the art. My attention was grabbed by this Pacific Arc (H-1305) lead-holder. One of the reasons to use a clutch pencil is that it feels the same every time you pick it up. It never gets shorter as you use it. The H-1305 is very comfortable to hold. The button is easy to push to let the lead slide down, yet the spring that holds things is strong enough to grip the lead firmly. Although the pencil includes a pointer under the button, I usually use a desktop pointer to maintain my lead. I generally have a pen and pencil in my pocket. As an everyday carry the Pacific Arc is very good. I routinely touch up the point on the lead at the start of the day and I'm good to go. One thing I absolutely do not miss is the constant clickety-clickety I have to do with a 0.5mm pencil because of breaking leads. There's less worry about that with a 2mm lead. Pointing the lead is a different ritual at first, but it soon becomes just what one does as part of using the pencil. Get a good pointer like the Staedtler 502, or a nice cast iron vintage one if you can find one (I'm still looking...). One feature that I don't recall from the old days is the "degree indicator" that allows for setting a small window to show the lead hardness number so one can see what is loaded in that particular pencil. Since I'm not a draftsman nor really an artist, I tend to stick with HB lead hardness. Since I only have a couple of clutch pencils and keep them both loaded with HB lead, that feature is less useful to me. If I had a fleet of these things I'd find it more useful, I'm sure. The grip section of the pencil is a bit longer than, say, that on a Staedtler 780. At the same time the knurling is a bit smoother than the Staedtler's. Net result: it's just a little different. I've never had trouble holding on to either one. I like the pencil very much and it has a regular place in my pocket. I'm amused that I've literally been carrying the very same ballpoint pen every day since 2005, yet I like to rotate my pencils between the Pacific Arc, Staedtler 780, and some pencil-holders that let me use up stubs of wood pencils that otherwise would be thrown away. It's a good lead-holder, with a lead sized large enough to be durable yet fine enough to write clearly even if it's blunt. Whether you just want one or want to get a pile of them and load with every lead grade between 10H and 10B, the Pacific Arc H-1305 is an excellent choice.

Excelente portaminas, cómodo y ligero. Me gusta mucho la empuñadura de metal y el indicador de grado de la mina. El cuerpo es de plástico muy resistente y el interior es de metal (latón), por lo cual, es resistente el mecanismo. Se ve muy bonito con el cuerpo negro y la marca impresa. No viene en empaque, viene en una bolsita. En el cuerpo del portaminas trae un código de barras. El pulsador trae como un empaque de plástico, para que no se salga del portaminas y se pierda. Me gustó mucho y por eso, compré dos. Hace ya tiempo que buscaba un portaminas como éste, no son fáciles de encontrar ya que no hay muchas tiendas que los venda.

Muy buena calidad de porta minas, los materiales tiene la apariencia de ser muy durable, lo único que mejoraría sería el rótulo del modelo y su clave que se borran del cuerpo principal al primer uso, solo es pintura, no está grabado.
