Mr. Coffee® Simple Brew 12-Cup Switch Coffee Maker

Great, no-nonsense coffee maker! This is the coffee maker I've been looking for for years and I thought no longer existed. It's fairly easy to pour the water into without spilling it. Coffee grounds don't end up in the pot when a whole pot is brewed. Best of all, it doesn't turn itself off after two hours, a feature of most modern coffee makers that I find annoying. If you want to spend a lot on a fancy gadget, buy some fru fru brand. If you want a no frills, inexpensive, sturdy coffee maker that makes a great cup, buy Mr. Coffee, particularly this model.

Love this coffee maker. The price was great and so easy to use. Easy to clean and coffee taste great. Replaced a former maker of the same model. Brew time great.

This simple complete coffee maker is just what I wanted. No big costs and it makes good coffee. Love it.

I bought this for work and it brews a great cup of coffee. It stays warm. But it does not automatically shut off as advertised. So now I need to get another coffee maker for the office.

One of the two most important appliances in the household, the other is the microwave oven! Gotta have the morning coffee!! My previous Mr. Coffee lasted many years of faithful daily service and finally gave it up very recently. Because it is essential to daily life, went with what we in this house have relied on and that is getting another Mr. Coffee!! Makes great quality coffee that has great taste and opens the eyes up each and every morning! The size fits nicely on the kitchen counter and its appearance gives confidence in satisfying the morning routine. The filter is no problem as it takes any of the right size items available on the market or available at many of the stores around this area. It is great to have that eye-opener available every morning to get the day started!!!

Mr.Coffee has always made good coffee makers at a reasonable price unlike other brands and we use ours everyday.

Love my Mr. Coffee pot!! No frills which I love! Put coffee in the basket por water in tank and 10 to 12 minutes later you have hot coffee to drink. No timer, or clock, simply plain and quick.

*** updated 1/16/2021*** It’s been a few weeks. I tried one more time but the flavor is still there. Maybe it’ll go away but I had also purchased a pitcher that boils watet for tea and it’s great with a. French press we had that I forgot to use. This product I declare as junk for me and regret the purchase thus rating it a one star. I no longer have incentive to try again so it’s unlikely I’ll come back for another updated review. ******** I’m going to start this review off by talking about filters. There are cone filters and then there are flimsy filters. Until I went back to these flimsy filters, I never fully appreciated the cone filters and this will impact future machine purchases for me. Cone filters pack flat meaning storage is less invasive. The hood their shape and are less likely to spill and the won’t collapse when transferring to compost or garbage. It’s a little thing but I appreciate it. So, the point of all this, is that mr coffee uses the flimsy filters. Surprisingly there are a lot of machines that don’t use the cones, which is disappointing. First impressions: The plastic look and felt cheap. I saw reviews that commented about the cheapness of this machine and shrugged it off. Other machines are made of plastic after all. This plastic looks and feels somehow cheaper. I instantly had a negative association to it. The side windows which advertised visibility from both points was a selling point for me. What was failed to be mentioned is that you can’t read the clear numbers when contrasted against a black background or steam. I wrote the marks in with permanent marker to be able to see when filling. One feature I did like is that the spout moves out of the way and the lid snaps it back into place. Simple and elegant engineering. I would never clean these grounds out when hot though. Recipe for spilt grounds and burns. The prep It requires a washing and a single run to remove the plastic flavor, per instructions. I ran 4 times after I washed and before the first use. The plastic smell seemed gone. The usage The first cup seemed fine. Additional uses the plastic taste and smell crept in strongly. I ran a cleanse through it four more times and it’s still there rendering expensive coffee undrinkable. My wife felt like the first coffee had a weird flavor, so maybe I didn’t notice the first time? The fact we have flushed this so many times and the flavor persists is deeply concerning to me. I’ve owned a few coffee machines and never had this issue persist for so long. I’m going to keep trying and if something changes, I’ll update. I’d like this to be a good machine for me, but it’s not. The water heats quickly! This is a lot faster than my older coffee makers! The lighted switch is more subtle than I’d like. It’s a dot vs the entire switch, but in the end my wife and I turn it off after the last cup and it’s not an issue as we both stay at home now. There is no auto shut off. The drip stop works okay. A few drips will come out if you pull early, but it does stop while you pour a cup. A critical feature for my wife. The carafe pours well at an okay speed without dripping down the side. Some will leak if overly full and you have to pour slooooowly to avoid spillage. This seems better designed. This steams a lot and should not be under a cabinet when running. It WILL damage the cabinets. It’s easy to pull out and push back in. The summary: Would I purchase again? No. Even if the flavor fixes itself, I have concerns about the cheapness of this machine and the plastic used and the health impact. I couldn’t find anywhere that discussed if it was bpa free. I hadn’t been concerned because sunbeam owns me coffee, but after seeing and feeling the cheapness of the plastic, and with the plastic taste still present, I’m concerned. It is cheap, the functionality seems good for just a weeks ownership, but the lack of drinkable coffee is an issue. Even if that’s resolved, there’s concern in the back of my mind about the long term health impact of this machine. Hopefully this is helpful. I’d recommend spending more money as I feel I wasted $28 and will be purchasing a new coffee maker, again.

A cafeteira nao esta esquentando a cafe suficientemente. Eu sempre gostei essa marca, mas essa maquina nao esta funcionando corretemente.

Execelente producto. Cumple con lo que menciona, hemos buscando está marca en la ciudad en dónde vivimos y nadie la vende así que decidimos pedirla por internet y toda la familia está feliz con ella. Llegó incluso antes de lo esperado.

If it worked properly the coffee machine wouldn't be that bad. It is bulky, made of cheap plastic, unattractive, but it does the job for the most part. Condensation builds up on the underside of the cover which spills onto the counter every time you open it. There are no features, just an on and off switch, which you'd think is fine for the price but even other coffee makers at the same price have several features. That being said, the first one I got leaked from the bottom. Every time I made coffee there would be a pool of water on the counter. I asked for a replacement, which I got. This one worked for about a month and then the switch started coming loose, and then stopped working entirely. I asked reported the problem and they offered me yet another replacement, to which I was skeptical but accepted. Then after waiting for over a month I wrote back asking for a refund instead of a replacement, which they said they would do. Two more months went by without a refund so I ping them, now they're saying they want me to send in the last defective machine to get a refund. If you're looking for a cheap, straightforward coffee maker, get a different one. For $40 you expect something cheap and simple that will work, not to have to deal with awful customer service for months. Not only that but like I said, in the $40 price range there are better machines out there. I should also mention that the customer service was directly from Mr. Coffee, not Amazon.

Several days ago, while washing the dishes I dropped the coffee cup, which smashed into the coffee pot. Only the coffee cup survived. I waited 4 long days of no-morning coffee waiting for this to arrive. I am a senior with mobility issues who does not drive so its not like I could just run out an buy one. Once I received this, ran a pot of water through it, and finally made that pot of morning coffee - it was the best coffee I ever had and it was the best coffee maker that ever existed! I now leave the coffee pot on the counter and when all the other dishes have been washed and the sink is empty, only then do I wash the coffee pot. Its pretty basic, which is what I wanted, no bells and whistles, very easy to use. The cord is kinda short but that's ok by me as when its not in use its easy to tuck the cord behind it. It does have a little cubby hole to put the cord into to but its easier to just to hid it behind the coffee maker. If I had to I would buy again.
