Is this an authentic Sekiguchi Monchichi doll?

Honestly I don't believe so. It is good quality, but didn't come in a box like the original ones do. It did have an "authentic" tag...but I can't confirm for sure! :\

Are these dolls soft?

Yes they are very soft and the outfit was beautiful. It was just like the original my daughter had 30 years ago

Does this come new in box?

It did come new wrapped up in a shipping box

Does this doll come in a box?

Mine came in a display box. I ordered the boy too with yellow bib and that one came in a bag only. Maybe it depends on distributior that's available at the time you place older. I ordered mine Dec 9, 2014 and it was a gift.
