I’m not sure why there are so many bad reviews. I’ve had this lock for 4 yrs and it works great! I’ve honestly never had an issue. The door tag and screen work well. If my print is unreadable I just add my code and press #. Does need new batteries every year or so but the app lets you know. I’m about to buy one as a gift. I would definitely recommend this and I have not been paid or asked to make this review. I rarely review but can’t understand all the negative reviews. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Keeps locking us inside! Even after we disengaged the “privacy lock“ the bolt continues to lock us inside and needs to be disabled manually via the app. This was a REAL problem for my wife when she was trying to leave the house to run errands and collect our children but did not have the app herself and had to call me to help her (while I was driving at high speeds on a highly congested highway): and I was not close enough for the app’s Bluetooth to connect to the lock and unlock it for her. She had to download the app herself and manually work through set up and features to figure out how to disable it. It was a nightmare. She was late to pick up our children, which caused its own problems. I wanted this loc to work so well since it has so many ways to unlock it, but alas, I remain disappointed—and TERRIFIED I’ll be trapped in my own home during an emergency! Not a risk I’m willing to accept for my family.

I don’t often leave reviews, but I thought I’d leave this one! I’ve had two of these locks, one on my patio door and one of my front door for one year now. I’m only back on the page to leave this review because I’ve ordered a third for the door that leads to my garage. So far, I haven’t really had any issues with this. The fingerprint works, and my kids come in the front door every single day using the combo. You can setup multiple combos. Do I think this is the best lack you can get on the market, probably not. But is it efficient for the price, yes. And the locking function seems to work every time. I do agree with some of the other reviews that the connectivity, you have to be close to the lack to get it to do things, but to me I don’t really use that feature often. Really only to check battery life.

After three or so years it gave up. It was working great and suddenly the fingerprint feature stopped working and the battery life went from months to just a couple weeks. I’ve tried everything to fix it but it appears it’s dead. The keypad still works however; but with batteries lasting just a couple weeks now, it’s not worth keeping. So, my reviews are mixed. Worked great but died far too soon than I expected.

These locks were very easy to install. I put 2 of them in and had to have Elaine FaceTime me. She was very responsive and the issue was resolved within minutes!! I had tried what Elaine asked me to do (too hard to describe) but told her I’d do it again! And VOILA!!! I give the Alexa integration a 1 star because it keeps telling me that an account already exists after entering my phone number and password. I’m tired so will try again in the morning! I replaced 2 Liftmaster locks that would NOT hold the wifi so only Bluetooth worked. It defeats the purpose of having remote control. These locks were less than I paid for one of the LM locks. Love the fingerprint option! Elaine was fantastic and if I need help again, I hope she’s working because she’s very good at what she does! Also loved that she asked if we could do a video chat! Streamlined the fix by not having to take pics/email/wait for a response etc etc etc! I haven’t been able to check locking the door via wifi/remote but I’m not worried about it working! Worked great for about 15 months, but now we are forced to use only the key. The batteries drain really fast (within a week) and you can hear it just struggling to lock and unlock. I went to get a key copied today and Ace advised they can't copy it because it's shorter than an average key and they don't have anything comparable. I loved the amount of options included with this product, but we only used the keypad and now keys. (Heads up, the code can include wrong numbers and still work.) We never did use the key tag feature, and weren't able to set it up to unlock from the app.

I bought this lock in 2024 and honestly, it's not a terrible lock. I'm finally writing a review because I like to see how it would hold up over time. Firstly, the app is not impressive, especially if you try to lock/unlock the door through your phone's bluetooth connection. It takes way too long to even connect and most of the time, it wouldn't connect at all so there's no point in even trying to use your phone. I tested it and you have to stay right next to the lock for it to lock/unlock through Bluetooth so that was such a let down for me at first because it's faster to just use the key if you're that close to the lock. The furthest I could stand away from the lock to use its bluetooth feature was about 4-5 feet away. But I really did like the other many ways to unlock the lock such as the cards, fingerprint and numpad. That's one of the main reasons why I got the lock. Like if guests came to stay at my home and dropped in and out a lot, I can give them a card instead of the physical key. They were always so impressed by it and I was too. But over time, the lock became finicky. I used the auto lock feature a lot and soon it became unreliable because it stopped locking all the way into the door frame. It would lock only about halfway then start beeping to let me know the lock didn't lock all the way. So I would have to walk over to the lock and manually lock it myself. It's not a battery issue, not a setting that needed to be fixed, not my door frame. For a few months, I just settled with it not working properly and manually locked it. Because as long as it unlocked from the outside still, I was okay with that. Fast forward to now, a little less than two years of owning this lock, the lock completely stopped working. It no longer locks by itself, no longer UNLOCKS through the app, no longer unlocks with fingerprints, no longer unlocks using the card, no longer with fingerprints, nada... it's basically just a manual normal lock. The app says it's got plenty of battery left, says it's still connected, and I've reset it a couple times to see if that'd do anything. Nothing. The lock is still online but there must be something in the actual lock mechanism that no longer works. Overall, I'm a little disappointed that it just altogether stopped working entirely. But for the first year, it was a good smart lock excluding the lack of app functionality. It's a "smart" lock but still lacks in a few places that hurts the product from being very well polished. It works well using a fingerprint or the key card but if you want any of the other smart features it offers, it's not that great.

Between our kids frequently misplacing their keys and family coming in from out of town, my wife and I are constantly walking up and down our stairs to unlock the front door. It's become irritating, especially when we're already relaxing comfortably on our couch. So, we decided to upgrade to a smart lock to give our family and guests more options for getting into the house, even without a physical key. A lot of research went into getting a smart lock. Whatever we went with needed to be easy to install and program, as well as provide a variety of options for entry, including physical keys. Most brands, including Weiser and Schlage, had interesting options, but they were all missing some key feature. When we stumbled onto Smonet, we weren't sure about it because we'd never heard of the brand. But it was close to $100 CAD and had some decent reviews. Since we could return the lock if it didn't meet our needs, we ordered the Smonet Smart Deadbolt to give it a try. We were not disappointed. I had this deadbolt installed within 30 minutes. It would have taken far less time, but the holes in our front door weren't properly cut decades ago. I had to modify the door to accommodate a modern lock (would have been the same issue regardless of what brand we went with). I popped in four batteries, opened the Next Lock app, and started programming FOBs, passcodes, and fingerprints without an issue. I got some extra keys copied for the people in my home who like to have a physical key as a backup, but everyone has been using their passcodes or fingerprints to get in since the lock was installed. To be honest, the fingerprint scanner is ultra sensitive. If your finger is dirty or sweaty, you're not likely to get a good reading. Myself, I've been happy with the keypad and entering my code. A bonus feature is the auto-lock. I am well-known for getting distracted and accidentally leaving the deadbolt unlocked. The auto-lock feature allows you to set the time the deadbolt will automatically lock, so you never have to worry about keeping your family protected. The app is pretty decent. Easy to navigate, shows me the battery life, allows me to unlock and then lock the door from wherever I am in the house. Very versatile little unit. There are so many other features we don't use, like Apple Watch, Alexa, and Google Home, but could if we wanted to. Lastly, the physical key can be copied using a Schlage SC1 key-blank. Don't go to Home Depot, Rona, or any other general hardware store as they have no clue how to cut these keys. Go directly to a reputable locksmith and tell them to use an SC1. I made multiple copies successfully. If you're in the market for a smart lock for your home, we'd highly recommend the Smonet Smart Deadbolt. I kind of wish we had more doors in the house. I'd get another one in a heartbeat.

I purchased 4 of these locks as Christmas gifts for my family. The intention was to find something dependable with an easy to manage app that allowed for customization for multiple users. It has now been 4 months since they were installed and my family is so happy with their locks. The fact that you can use a key, a finger print, enter a code, use your phones Bluetooth, the ic fobs or even your watch; makes this a very versatile lock with current technology and customizations. Today I had to visit my daughters and made it to her house before her. She was able to send me a temporary code from the app so that I would be able to get in, that was impressive and so convenient. This feature is also useful if you have trades or guests coming that only require temporary access with an expiry time/date that you can set or revoke at any time. Convenience and security have all been well thought out for a lock that costs considerably less than other brands on the market. It was necessary to contact their support line recently because the unit I purchased for my father was having problems. I found it most helpful to contact them through their WhatsApp because of the time difference. They did some troubleshooting with me and determined that the unit should simply be replaced. Within 10 hours there was a delivery at my dad’s door with a replacement unit. To say we were shocked at how fast they resolved our issue is an understatement. They went above and beyond to back up their warranty and were fantastic to deal with. So knowing that the features aligned perfectly with our expectations and the support exceeded even some of the bigger names I’ve used in the past; I will continue to support this brand going forward. J’ai eu beau changer les batteries plusieurs fois en pensant que c’était ça le problème mais malheureusement c’est tout simplement la serrure qui a décider de ne plus fonctionner. Elle n’émet plus un son ni ferme. Plus rien. Très déçu.

So far so good. I live in Northern Ontario where we are currently in our false spring. The fingerprint is very touchy so make sure that you put your finger on there exactly how you programmed it or else it won’t work the first couple times. Auto lock feature is great. I seriously do love how you can control basically all of the settings on your phone. Works very well with my Amazon Alexa and Google Home. I do love how it tells you out loud if you have it programmed to do so that it is unlocked or locked. I also have a ring doorbell so it’s nice to know when someone is there and I can unlock the door for them from my phone wherever I am if needed. Installation was a breeze but I use to work with a locksmith so this was nothing new for me. It’s a great little lock I must say. I’ve only ran into maybe five instances where the touchpad was a little delayed for my liking but that was just more of me being in a rush in those moments. Great if you have kids. It keeps a log of who comes in the house at what times if they used a code or their fingerprint or their key card. You can have your own profiles with fingerprint, code or keycard attached. It’s some pretty nifty tech !

I bought this lock over a year ago and only used the basic features until today. I wanted to set it up in the app and use the full feature set, but I was struggling, so I called customer service. I expected an automated system or a long screening process. Instead, I waited less than a minute and was connected straight to Sam. He took the time to understand my issue, walked me through every step, and shared best practices so the setup would actually work for how I use it. He was friendly, engaged, and clearly knew the product inside and out. I got off the call with a fully working lock, ready to go. Great product, but the customer service is what really stood out. Highly recommend.
