    DJ KRUSH IS BOMB

This is another sweet KRUSH album while it is not my favorite I still love what he does and would buy anything with his name on it.

    DJ Krush ‎- Milight

*by S***L on February 20, 2013*

DJ Krush uses answering machine recordings and interviews of fellow producers and musicians on MILIGHT, but the style is still all Krush's own. The mellow beats are in full-effect, even as the furious Japanese rapping patters atop of "Shin-Sekai" or the English spitting on "Tragedy." But the birds chirping on the quiet and melancholy "Jugoya" have much more impact, to my ears, as does the abstract vibraphone jazz of "Listen." DJ Cam's able French touch extends "Le Temps" into a horn-inflected meditation, borrowing an extended sample from Cam's track "Angel Dust." Mos Def adds a nice funk party vibe to "Shinjiro" and "Light (Can You See It?)," while Eri Ohno adds a soulful vibe to the spare "Mind Games." Deborah Anderson rounds out the album with her vocals on "Skin on Skin," a track that veers towards Portishead territory but without totally going there. MILIGHT shimmers, but doesn't quite shine.

    Great trip-hop album!

*by S***N on February 6, 2010*

Milight is a wonderful album for trip-hop enthusiasts. DJ Krush has a great way of mixing minimal sound effects for maximum impact. The bass and sound mixing in this album is nearly flawless and has the best audio mix and sound of any of his albums to date. My favorite track is "Jugoya" which means literally the 15th night, marks the 15th day of the 8th lunar month of the Chinese calendar (which is usually mid or late September for our calendar) and is a deep and resonent sounding instrumental. The instrumental pieces are quite good but I find his collaborations with American Rappers to be mundane as the rappers lyrics are mediocre at best. Overall this is a great Trip-Hop Album.
