Great taste
I've never eaten biltong before, but this was amazing when compared to regular jerky. I'm definitely a fan.

Our fave Biltong in the US
We’ve tried so many different Biltong brands here in the US and this one is by far our favorite. 😍

Close authentic flavor; a little lean and 'wet' for my memory of typical SA offerings
Quick ship and nicely packaged; nostalgic SA theme. i found it cured, but not bone dry - so a 'wet' offering. And very lean cuts of beef - so none of the fat and sinewy gristle of my memory - but understandable given the US market taste and mouth feel expectations, I suppose. There was also a lack of spiciness - not sure what is missing - also an aftertaste of something salt or sodium bicarb. But nice offering. Thank you!

Tastes like the ocean, not the savannah
First, full disclosure: My family is from Germany, not South Africa, so I won't even pretend to be an expert on biltong. I'll leave that to the saffers who know better. The meat itself is okay I guess, a little on the firmer side without being tooth-breaking but still not soft and squishy like you just dredged it up off the bottom of a river (looking at you, Jack Link's teriyaki beef jerky), but it still has the look of beef jerky. One other reviewer mentioned proper biltong should have varied color, darker on the outside and lighter on the inside (think of how a medium-rare steak changes color from the outside going in, just not necessarily that pink) and this stuff definitely does not. Not sure if it's because of the way it was prepared, or if it was treated with some kind of chemical to "make it look nice" (you know, the way they treat slabs of beef at Walmart to make them all a nice, bright red to entice people to buy them) but it is definitely the same color all the way through. The fact it clearly isn't proper biltong aside, I could deal with that, the flavor is AWFUL. It tastes like I'm back down in Florida and I just went to the beach and got a mouthful of saltwater. Salt is the second ingredient in the ingredients list, and it definitely shows. According to the ingredients list there are other "spices" (they don't elaborate on what kind), but all you can actually taste is the salt. No coriander, no clove, not even a hint of pepper or anything.I'm going to have to slowly suffer through it because I paid good money for this crap and I hate to waste food, much less such expensive food, but suffice to say I won't be buying anything from this company again. I bought the sliced biltong, the chunked biltong, and the droewors (their dried sausages) and none of them are good. Both types of biltong are over-salted, and the wors? Completely lacking in flavor. Just.. bland. No mouthful-of-ocean like the biltong, but no real flavor to speak of at all, either. I won't tell you how to spend your money, but personally I can't recommend this stuff to anyone. Not unless you're a huge fan of salt, or flavorless meat sticks.

One of, if not the best Jerky on the market
I can't recommend this brand enough. Being on a keto diet, a lot of the jerkies on the market have too much sugar to be worth eating, but I was surprised to find this brand with ~1g per serving. The bag arrived vacuum sealed with everything still intact(other brands leave it loose and then by the time the box gets to you, you're left with a bag of crumbles). The taste is top notch, nothing crazy overboard or artificial tasting but it tastes exactly how you imagine jerky should taste. It seems like they used really good quality meat and didn't need to throw a bunch of extra ingredients/preservatives in while preparing it. The bag itself seemed like more than 8oz but I didn't weigh it.If you're looking for a quality product, that tastes good with minimal processing (and made in the US) this is your ticket. I look forward to ordering more in the future.

Odd Flavor
Odd taste to it, eating more and more gets you used to whatever the flavor is but I wouldn't recommend it. Great texture though.

Best biltong I’ve found in America
This stuff tastes the most like my favorite butcher in SA. It’s about 10x the price but if I get a craving for biltong this is the best. Perfectly tender with the juicy middle and decent flavor. All other brands in America taste like jerky or cardboard. The price is brutal but it hits the spot.
