Problems: Initially, the controller kept turning on and off, wouldn't connect properly and constantly shown to have low batteries ("critical" according to the Xbox game bar app...) despite having brand new ones put in. This is still an issue, but the battery is actually fine so I blame the Xbox game bar application for not sensing it right. On top of this issue, the button inputs for "A" and "B" were confused for keyboard inputs during in-game sessions (on Steam). Going to video guides and various forums I found out the battery problem was possibly caused by the clip bits that have the "+" and "-" signs on them being a bit too compressed, and gently pulling them out (to make sure they were holding the batteries securely and properly connected). As for the keyboard-gamepad input confusion, I went into Steam's settings and had to select the "Expanded Xbox Configuration support" and "Xbox Extended Feature Support" and subsequently had to restart my PC. After that, controller worked like a charm, and I am loving it. It was a bit taxing to do so much troubleshooting, I took the whole thing apart three times to check the motherboard against google images to make sure it was okay (haha). But in the end most of the issues had nothing to do with the controller, but just how it was being perceived by other programs.
