All I can say is "WOW"
So I have been sharpening my Stilh 3/8 chains for 15 years.....After I stopped paying a lot to have them professionally shapened because they took to much metal resulting in short chain life or the teeth got so hot the became "heat treated". I have 2 Stihl sharpening systems which work well......the one that clamps onto the bar with angle adjustment has been my mainstay for the past decade. That said I still have to sepertaly file the rakers. I bought this after reading the reviews. I live in upstate NY and have dead Ash trees due to the Asian Ash Boarer. I heat with wood (brutal winters) and have a maple syrup operation that burns another 10 cords firewood, s I cut a lot of wood annually. The trees range from 10" to 60" in diameter....so some big stuff. I got the sharpener on Saturday and did my first sharpening that afternoon. When I started to cut I was amazed at the chip size of the cuttings and the speed at which I cut through the hardwood ash logs.....It was nothing short of amazing. I have never had my Stihl perform so well. On a whim I changed the chain to a brand new one out of the box A Stihl factory fresh chain just to see if my sharpening was a fluke ....While it ate through the wood as expected It did not perform as well as my used chain sharpened with this new file system. So I sharpened the new chain with the new file chainsaw sharpener and cutting was improved....It cut like my used chain. Stihl came up with a big winner.....Thus my continued faith in Stihl as the best. BTY I have two used Stihl chainsaw sharpening systems available for sale but this new file system is staying!

Great tool
Best saw accessory I've found. Sharpens and files rakers all in one stroke and that makes a huge difference. Worth the rather high price in my opinion. Simple to use.

Good quality and does a good job
Takes a little bit of muscle to be effective but it puts a nice edge on a chain. The raker file is helpful as well. Make sure you are ordering the right size for your chain

Great Product
I just used this sharpener and it's amazing and very easy to use. I bought a brand new chain for my Poulan Pro 20" and it worked really well. After I cut a bunch of small trees and brush with it I tried to cut a bigger tree and I started to smell burning wood. I took my saw back to the building and used this sharpener on it. No joke, it was sharper than before. I burned right through the tree. The chips from the cut were long and stringy, indicating a a sharp chain. The best part is it only took about 10 minutes to sharpen, and that includes learning how to use it. This was worth the price IMO. It's a great device. Also the files that come with it are very high quality. I could see the steel changing shape as I moved the file through the teeth. I watched a couple review videos on youtube before I bought this sharpener, one was Wranglerstar and the other was Steve's Small Engine Saloon. If you are having any trouble figuring out how this sharpener works I recommend watching either of those guys.

Works great when the caps stay shut
These work great. However, the orange cap on mine pops open when using and that is really annoying.

Outstanding
Had this product a while before I made my review. I had never in my life attempted to sharpen a chainsaw. I considered a power sharpener before I ultimately made this purchase. I’m very happy with this sharpener. I read instructions and watched a video on the web about how to use this. It’s not too complicated at all. The first time I sharpened my chain, each tooth took about 10-15 licks to get the chain correct. After that, each time I need to sharpen chain, each tooth take 2-5 licks and it takes less than 5 minutes to do the whole chain. Once sharp, my chain feels sharper than it did when my chainsaw was new. The sharpness last a good while under normal conditions as long as you don’t hit the ground while using the chainsaw. That’s dulls the chain instantly. Bottom line- Don’t think about it.... Just buy it. Will save you plenty of money on buying new chains or paying someone to sharpen your chain. And you can even use it in the field when you need it with the chain on the chainsaw. Make sure to match the correct product with your chain specifications.

Must have for any chainsaw owner
Highly recommend this sharpener for anyone that runs a chainsaw, be it for a living or around the home. I have this sharpener now in three sizes. It makes quick work of keeping your chainsaw sharpened quickly, easily and most importantly, accurately. It sharpens both the tooth and cuts the rake. I run one over my chain after every tank of gas or after each depleted battery. When you keep up on the sharpening, it only take a couple of passes to get them back to being sharp, and a sharp saw is more efficient, making for easier work of cutting up wood. For my battery electric saws, this is important because dullness means less cuts per charge. The only downside to them is that they are pitch specific (.325 is not the same as 3/8" is not the same as 3/8" low profile). I have tried the cheap knock offs and the build quality is significantly worse and they just fall apart after a few rounds of use. Just buy the Stihl and you will be happy for years to come. For replacement circular files, I have seen that Oregon sells replacements that are supposed to fit, but the Stihl ones require replacement so infrequently that it's not much of a difference for me as a home owner, but if you cut for a living, you might be able to notice the economical difference. For the rake file bar replacements, I have so far only seen the Stihl ones, and they are spendy at $20. Overall, very happy with the sharpener, and as I stated from the start, highly recommend them for anyone that owns or operates a chainsaw.
