We were looking for something inexpensive and easy to operate. This meets both those criteria. It easily reads the computer and hard drive 1d and 2d codes. The only slightly critical feedback I can give is it feels a bit cheap (lightweight plastic, not the heavy/stronger plastic you get on the "big brand" model. It also is a wee bit slow on the scan.
