If you use a bnc to rg59 f-type connector and use the connectors with the kit that will give you the connectivity you need. **Q: Can you use hub blink on a poe switch?** A: Although the instructions say "NOTE: DO NOT attempt to use Hub Blink function when connected to a Power over Ethernet (PoE) active port", a switch will not apply PoE power unless it first detects a PoE compatible device. We tested the Klein Scout Pro 3 tester hub blink tool on our PoE switch and it worked fine. **Q: Can someone confirm if this will test cables with a bnc connector or sdi cables?** A: Unit ships with adapters to test Coax (RG5x/6x) and Ethernet. You would need to purchase an RG to BNC adapter (which cost about $1 US each). Klein may have a version that ships with BNC adapters. But I, personally did not choose that option nor do I remember the alternate options, offhand. **Q: What is supposed to go in the open slot in the case below the test unit? Have tone receiver that goes to the left, what goes in the rectangle cutout?** A: Not the premium tone generator (with clips) in the VDV500-820 probe kit. We had to build several CAT6 cables for a project and the test capabilities of this device paid themselves immediately. First, we were able to determine with ease if the cables were built right, and also identify on which cable we were with the included remotes. Also, having the capability to audio tone them out gave this design a better working piece of equipment. The included case has a nicely built, durable design to hold all the equipment and test cabling.
