So it seems that 45-55 volts would be of little concern as long as you keep the amperage under control. 120 volts @ 4 amps translates to 12volts @ 40 amps which is probably why they are equipped with 40 amp fuses from the factory. Obviously, you would use a lesser rated fuse at 45 VDC.
