Alas, our first one finally died after 22 years of hard use. This new one is okay for keeping time, but it is freakishly loud -- I mean, heart-clutchingly loud. My friend with PTSD was in the kitchen yesterday and when it went off she ran screaming from the room. Although there is a 3-level loudness setting, there doesn't seem to be a way to make this timer any quieter. The next 22 years will be nerve-racking.

Awful! No way to figure this thing out so I can use it. Way too expensive and even male family members cannot figure out how to set it.
